Problems with System Linking

Trying to play Halo: Combat Evolved with 7 players using System Link.

I have two Xboxs, 7 controllers, 2 copies of the game, Ethernet crossover cable to join the two Xboxs.

When I start the game on both Xboxs I can setup System Link but within a few minutes of playing the Xbox "joining" the game flashes up a notice that its lost sync with the other Xbox and that it will reset/restart the game. Then both Xboxs start the game
again.

Has anyone had this issue and if so is there a solution?

e.g. would it be better to use two separate Ethernet cables and connect each Xbox to a router? Would ordinary Ethernet cables work or do they have to be crossover cables?

System linking

This is specifically for back ops 3 zombies. I'm trying to system link with my brother, we are both offline, we can find each other on the "find LAN game" but when we go to join each other, it is party is not joinable. Any solutions?

I thought system link was only for the original xbox. You sure you arent stuck in the year 2003 buddy?

If its the 1st generation of Xbox so the original one , to be able to play with link system , you should connect directly ONE ethernet cable on both consoles ( so not via the router … ) also let network settings on auto.

Its Xbox 360 and I'm following Method 1: Connect two Xbox 36 consoles together (wired connection) and I'm using an Ethernet crossover cable but still getting the issue described above.

Wondering if I need to use a crossover cable or just an ordinary Ethernet cable.

Also are there any settings I should be using/changing on the Xbox 360 to stop the consoles losing sync?

Hello,

Reset your network settings on both consoles and put all in automatic.

Cable has to be crossover for sure.

If you still cant play with link system , try method 2 with router/hub.
