Problems with surround sound on xbox one

Hello. Sometimes when i turn on the xbox and my home theater system (conected via optical cable) is already on, my xbox doesnt produce any sound. The solution i have found is that under settings/audio i select "bitstream format" to DTS Digital Surround,
and then change it to "Dolby Digital". That way i can start hearing the audio again. Has someone experienced that problem?

Surround sound and chat from headset

Does anyone know if there are still problems with the xbox one and the chat/surround sound functions of headsets?

I recently got an xbox one and I want a surround sound headset. It seems the only cheap ones are from the 360, so I will be buying one of those. I've read about problems with the dss2 and chat and all these other things.

What are some good surround sound headsets from the 360 era that work on xbox one and what extra wires/adapters would I need to buy? I want the chat and surround functions to both work simultaneously. I have the new controller with a 3.5mm jack.

 

Surround Sound Problems with Xbox One

Well, here's what I've got so far. I think there was something to the Sony Receiver the Xbox didn't like. I had a different receiver sitting in my basement...it's a long story....and decided to try that one out. It's an Onkyo, and it worked! I was able to
play with more of the settings on this receiver and for whatever reason...it works flawlessly now. I have no idea what was going on with the Sony...I had reset it hundreds of times and could never get it to work properly. But...it's fixed now..I guess. Thanks

Lesson learned: Don't use sony receivers on a microsoft product...funny my iPhone handles smart glass just fine though
