Problems with streaming music from PC to 360

Lately, whenever I try to play my PC's music on my 360, the music will often be very slow to load, and pause repeatedly when it does play. This problem only started recently, and I have no idea what could be causing it.. any ideas/help?

My guess is that you're not actually streaming the music from your PC, but you're rather streaming it from the Xbox Music catalog.

Sorry to hear about the streaming issue! Are you on a wireless connection? Are you using System Music Player or the Media Center extender? Also could you provide your router brand and model? We will need that information so we can narrow down the issue and

Yes, it is a wireless connection. Using the System Music Player, router is Belkin... not sure of exact model, but it's an older G router if that helps at all.

Unable to try a wired connection at the moment, but I have noticed that the same pausing problem is popping up when I play the music on the PC it's saved on as well, so it's probably nothing to do with the Xbox after all. Any ideas what that could mean?

 

Interesting, could you try throwing those same music files on a USB and play on a different PC? Try that and see if you run into the same issues, if the audio has the same issue on a different PC I would suggest reacquiring the music files from where you
got them.

 

Well, I tried that, and everything seems to work fine that way, though my other PC isn't on the wireless network and is too far away to connect the Xbox to. So it's safe to say that it's not the files specifically at least. Are there any other possible solutions
to this?

 

Thanks for trying, I would try removing the music files from your PC and then move them back on to the same PC to see if that fixes the playback issue. In addition, try plugging your USB directly onto your Xbox 360 and see if the music files play back fine
from there. This will help us narrow the issue down.
