    Problems with signing in after changing gamertag


    Hi all!

    Two days ago I changed my gamertag from Player(Random numbers) to the new one. The first one I got when I created the Windows Live account on my phone.

    After changing the gamertag I can't start any game on my PC, I can't even enter the store. It's just loading and loading and loading. After some 5 mins it shows a message, that the connection cannot be established. I suppose, it is related to the change
    of the gamertag. How can I fix this problem?

    The funny thing is, that I can login here on the website, but not in the "games" section in Windows.

    PS - if it is a wrong forum category, just let me know where should I write it. Thanks and I hope that someone would know how to help.

    Problems after changing GamerTag

    I changed my GT today, took advantage of the reduced price for that, then when I started up Reach it shows me as a recruit, and my Spartan is back to "original" without all the extra armor I purchased.



    My Credits are intact, as well as my rank. My achievement are all still there. I am able to connect to and play online matches, but afterwards it says I've reached my offline credid limit....



    I go to Bungie.net and I'm still listed as MYKL376, but right next to that it says "XBL: ." It shows no record of me playing any Halo games online.



    Anyone have this problem or know what to do? Will this resolve on its own soon, like Bungie just hasn't updated since I changed my tag yet?

    They are updating the servers. you are fine, just wait till later when they are back up and running

    Hey,

    That is very interesting. Are you able to login using the Xbox App on Windows 10? The Windows Store shouldn't have been effected by this. If you are not able to login to the Xbox App you may need to Clear your local Xbox identity data:

    - Open File Explorer

    - Copy/paste this directory location: %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_cw5n1h2txyewy\AC\TokenBroker

    - Delete the Accounts and Cache folder in there (if they exist)

    - Try launching the Xbox app again

    If you still cant login using the Microsoft Account or still don't have access to certain things; please remove/ re-add your Microsoft Account.If you are signed into Windows with an Microsoft Account, you will need to convert your account to a local account,
    remove the Microsoft Account, then re-add it.

    Thanks for the answer! Actually, I have still Windows 8.1 - not sure if it changes something in the instructions which you gave me?

    Anyway I will try it out and be back.

    I am sorry about that. The steps I provided was for Windows 10. That would explain why you are not able to see the folders as that's for the Xbox App itself. Since you are having issues with accessing the Store. can you try the troubleshooter here: Apps:

    download.microsoft.com/.../Appsdiagnostic10.diagcab
