    My son has accidentally removed himself from the family (parental account) via Account Management. When we try to restore the link we get message "Your parent's Microsoft account isn't valid. Your parent needs to choose a different account to manage your
    X-box profile." We don't know why the existing parent account isn't valid but as the only option available seems to be to choose a different account we've been trying that. We go through all the validation screens entering all the info correctly but right
    at the end, get the message "Xbox Live sign-up is currently unavailable. Please try again later." We have been getting this message for 2 days even though X-box on-line support states that all services are up & running.

    As a further complication, the credit card my husband originally registered to his Microsoft account has been cancelled due to some fraudulent entries. We have gone into his Microsoft account on-line and registered the credit card details for the replacement
    card & the new card no. has fed through to my husband's billing profile on the X-box so we're assuming that's not the cause of the problems but thought I'd mention that in case it's relevant.

    As a result of the above problem, my son can't use his X-box Live Gold membership to play with / chat to friends on-line & we're all getting very frustrated. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    I don't understand what changed?

    I have since day 1 of getting the Xbox One console been able to sign in my account with no problems asked whatsoever... however now I'm having problems. Whenever I go to sign in, it asks me if I am, or am not an adult. After choosing that I AM an adult,
    it asks me to have an adult/parent conformation. I don't quite understand though; if I'm the parent account/ have an adult account/ am an adult, why would I need to have this confirmed? I have NEVER been asked for parent conformation on ANYTHING on my 3 years
    with Xbox 360 , so whats changed?

    Hey there, if the email is a Microsoft Account you will have to first go through the account recovery form here:
    Recover your account

    -

    If the email was not a MS account or the account recovery failed you will need to then contact Xbox phone support and have you parents prove they own the account through other information on the account and hopefully they can help you:
