Problems with notifications

Hey,

I´m having problems with my notifications. I think it startet when the new dashboard released, but i´m not a 100% sure. When I start my console, my notifications work quite well. But than after a while my notifications just stop working. I just recognize
it because no friends show online anymore or i get a message which only shows up on my smartglass app. It´s the same with games. In the beginning i sometimes get achievement notifications, later on they don´t pop up any more. They are unlocking but don´t show
up. Also invites for parties and games won´t work. That´s the part where it becomes really annoying.

I tried all common solutions. Power Cycle, deleting and reinstalling my profile, factory reset of the console. My Nat-Type is open and my privacy settings are the adult ones.

Does any of you guys have the same problem? Do you have any idea how to fix it or is it on MS side?

I’m having trouble with my notifications. When a friend invites me to a party or game session I don’t get any pop ups or notifications and everything is on default and normal like it should be.

Can you verify you have notifications enabled in your settings? Go to Settings, All Settings, Preferences, and check everything you want to see. Can you make another profile to test with? That will tell you if it's console related or account related.

I have them enabled, of course I had another profile on the console, but i experienced the same issues. Is it possible that this problem with my console?

 

Try deleting the profiles (make sure you have the email and password to get them back ) shut everything down and when it comes back up , re add the profile...

 

I tried this already several times and it did not work at all. :-(

 

If you've done factory reset and the problem persists with other profiles, then yes it could be your console. That would be a really odd issue. There is an update coming out (if it's not out already), maybe wait for that. Do you have a friend with an Xbox
One? Perhaps see if you get notifications on that? If you do, then yes it may be your console. I would request going to myservice.xbox.com and requesting a service on your console.

 

I am experiencing a similar issue. I do not receive any form of notification pop up. Including party and game invites, achievements, and screenshot and recordings. I also cannot use text boxes. The majority do not even allow me to type at all. While some
(store search) allow for me to type blindly, showing no keyboard but if I guess it right i can still type. I have done everything I could to resolve the issue on my end, hard reset and such. My Xbox is fully updated and I keep it well ventilated and I clear
out dust weekly.

 

I also cannot uninstall or install games or apps. Also, when I hold the home button on the controller. It does not go to the options of shutting down the console or controller. But instead opens the side bar to the left.

 

I tried all suggestest steps, including factory resetting my console. It´s not like i don´t get any notifcation at all. When i turn it on, i´ll get notifications for a short ammount of time. After that time, i don´t get any notification any longer. It just
stops working. Sometimes there are a few notifications popping up like random. But anyway i miss out on the most. Yesterday I spoke to someone from the preview team, they said it may be a problem with the current build, because they got feedback from several
people experiencing this issues...

 

Edit: It has to be something with the current build. I enabled my smartglass app to notify me when someone goes online or i get a message. And it works without any problem. I receive every single message and it notificates me about all my friends, even the
ones that are often NOT shown on my xbox.

Past a factory reset, you're correct its something with the console (if it happens to multiple accounts). So, you have two options. 1. you can use submit for a
repair here, or 2. You should wait till the next update.

My advise. Wait for the next update to come out. That said, if you're in warranty and you just want it fixed, then you can get a new console free using the link above.

 

My warranty expires mid february. So I have to make a decision in the next week. Which option do i need to click to request an exchange of my console? And will i get a new one or will my old console just be checked? It´s a day one...

 

I have an issue with the notifications as well. Well one notification, with one friend. I have one person on my friends list, who is a favorite and it will never pop up when he signs on. Every other notification works fine, and my brother, who has an
xbox one in his room is alerted when the same friend comes online. To my friends knowledge he did not change any settings, neither did I. Weird issue, doesn't really effect my experience, just thought it to be really strange. If there is a simple fix
I'd take it, if not that's fine too.
