Problems with Netflix shutting my Xbox off

So this problem started when i got my xbox one x but sometimes when i hit b to stop watching something on netflix the screen just goes black for about 3-5 seconds then the console shuts it self off? This has happened about 5 times now all on netflix
and I dont know what to do about it.

This has just happen to me on my Xbox One X. I just started Netflix was looking through the menus and my system shut down. When I started it back up it was like a hard restart. Plus Netflix was signed out and I had to sign back in again. Also last week
I was looking through the menus and the app froze and sent me back to the dashboard. I uninstalled the app and it had been working fine till today.

in addition to the great advice below, You might want to try deleting tjhe Netflix app and re-installing after you do the hard reset.

Thank you for posting on the forums today, I'd be happy to help.

There may be a bug causing the Xbox to shut down when switching from an app to a game running in the background if that's what you were doing before you started watching Netflix. When you select B on an app from the main menu, the operating system will open
whatever you had running in the background.

First I recommend a hard reset and
power cycle. The link explains how to do so.

If that doesn't help then a
soft factory reset would be the next step. Just make sure you have your account login information available as you will need to re-add it during the reset.

I'm having the same problem with all video apps... Freezes the sound stutters and then shuts off... With Netflix it show cannot play video then shuts off.

I got the same problem, my netflix app its on spanish i changed it on movies and tv series and the app shut dowb, netflix support dont have any clue off whats going on do yo?
