Problems with Netflix on Xbox One

We had no issues with Netflix until we moved. Once we set up our Xbox in the new place, Netflix is having problems.

This seems to be a Xbox and Netflix exclusive issue as we can watch Netflix on other devices (tablet, computer & phone) and can use other apps and play games on the Xbox one without issue.

Here is what happens:

We open Netflix, the white screen with the Netflix title appears for 20-15 seconds. It changes to the black screen with the Netflix title, red loading circle starts in lower right hand corner but is laggy, almost not moving. Red loading circle then jumps
to Center screen, still laggy, sometimes moves but mostly sits still.

After some time (several minutes but sometimes longer) the loading noise chimes and Netflix switches to the profile screen.

In app response time is delayed, basically waiting upwards to 25 seconds for the app to respond to any buttons pushed on the controller.

Home button is disabled. Does not work. Only way to quit is to restart Xbox.

Videos can be selected but not watched as it is consistantly buffering or netflix times out.

Internet connection is not a problem; network checks on Xbox and Netflix app have positive results.

I have followed all the suggestions online.

I have turned off my Xbox.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Netflix.

I have hard reset my Xbox by unplugging it and waiting for the brick lights to change.

I have done that thing where I have held the button for 15 seconds and then tapped the button several times to discharge all extra electricity. (Is this really even a thing?)

I would do a special dance in front of my Xbox if it would fix this issue.

Any suggestions of what I can do to fix this problem?

Has anyone else experienced this extreme lag and app failure?

i'm using netflix canada on my xbox right now with no problems.

I've noticed the exact same problem. I'm thinking it's a streaming issue. Since Xbox One has poor streaming performance with Netflix, it displays artifacts like that when struggling to reach the full resolution. Tested several identical shows on PS4's Netflix
App without any problems...only on my Xbox One.

 

you might try clearing the alternate mac address in the advanced network settings page

 

This could be region specific as I've had troubles with demand 5 and changing my consoles region settings to match my account worked

 

I was having the same problem and decided to drop my streaming netflix. Has this issue been resolved? Will I be able to stream Netflix if I pay for it?

 

I would venture guess it has something to do with your ISP service, modem/router or other networking equipment. My assumption would be the only thing that would have changed from your move was your internet service. If you moved out of the country there
could be other considerations to make, but it doesn't sound like that is the case.

 

I have the same problem. Did any of the suggestions by other members work for you?
