Problems with my Xbox Family’s access to Content

A very confusing problem has popped up in the past few days regarding Xbox users in my family on the Home Xbox. The problem first started when none of the accounts could access Xbox Gold, except for the account that had bought the subscription. The whole
family gets access to Gold if one family member has it, correct? Because that was not the case.

After getting a one month free subscription on the account that didn’t have live access, suddenly that account was no longer able to play games that they didn’t buy. Even though they were playing on the Home xbox, they were not able to play the games. That
is where we stand now, and I haven’t been able to find any similar problem online.

Some extra info that could be related to the problem:

-I changed the account emails a few days prior. One email was switched from one account to another, which could have caused a “glitch?”

-We changed the home Xbox many times in the past few weeks, which could have also confused the system. However, it seemed like these problems existed on non-home Xbox’s as well.

Any help at all is appreciated, Thank You!

    :)

Xbox 360 console parental controls --- What you can control

You can customize and manage your family’s access to games, movies and television content using Xbox 360 parental controls. The Xbox 360 parental controls can also be used to control the console itself and access to Xbox LIVE. In addition, the Xbox 360 console parental controls allow you to limit the time that can be used by your each family member.

Note: Parental controls are divided in to groups: console control and online safety and privacy. You'll find the console control in the Family Setting or Family Center area of your console.

How to turn on the parental controls

    • You need to go to Settings on your console and then select Family.
    • Press On to turn on Console Safety.
    • You need to enter a 4-button pass code using your controller.
    • Finally, press Save and Exit.
Note: If you don't see Settings, you'll have to update your console software.

    The controlling options:

    Ratings and Content:
Using these settings, you can restrict games and video content based on the content’s rating. You can also choose whether or not unrated or explicit content can be played on your console.

Tip: For individual games, you can set up exceptions to the rating restrictions that you’ve set.

Family Timer: Using this setting, you can limit the time that your console can be used on a daily or weekly basis.

Xbox LIVE Access: Using this setting, you can control the access of you family to Xbox LIVE.

Xbox LIVE Membership Creation: This setting lets you set whether or not new Xbox LIVE memberships can be created from your console.

Can't access Marketplace, Privacy settings or Family settings

Yep, I've tried all of those. Or more precisely, I've tried changing my privacy and family settings on Xbox.com.

When I try and access privacy settings on my Xbox, I get "Status code: 80072741-a76bc0d7-41c9f076".

When I try and access family settings on my Xbox, I get "Status code: 80072741-a9a501a4-583a0b48".

I can download the content off of Xbox.com, but the problem is I still can't access the rest of the Marketplace.

Purchased Item downloaded but not on the system?

I am having the same problem as fixinto51. Additionally, the content is not sharing across my family. What gives? For real, with the amount of money we pay for games and online gaming access plus content, this should be a nonissue.

does it work "Access to content" in web?

    Ureka! I got it!

At the menu "Xbox settings" on "Privacy & online safety", I can use the link "Content access" menu.

But I don't know "Access to content" is same function with "Content access". The page url is "account.microsoft.com/family", right? I can check some accounts of my little devils!

    Anyway, Thank you Xbox Team!

HBO Max Child Profile Has All Content Locked, Despite Permissions Given to Appropriate Age Levels

Okay, finally solved the problem. I had to log into my profile on the console in question and update the Family settings for my daughter's profile, on that console itself, and remove the age restrictions for all of the content. Since I have the global
family settings that restrict content and require permissions, nothing seems to have changed except now she can actually see the content she's been given access to on her console. But it makes me wonder if she now has access to content she shouldn't, despite
needing permissions. This feels very counter-intuitive and feels weird to be unlocking the console for all-age content in regards to her profile just to allow the proper permissions to restrict content in another way. But, at least it's solved the problem
for us for he time being, I suppose.

Can't Access Netflix Without Entering Family Passcode Since New Update

Another user registering annoyance here. The parental control code now has to be entered before my kids can access Netflix, but once they're in, no content at all is blocked by the xbox family settings. Used to be, the netflix app could be accessed with
no parental code, but the kids would be blocked from any content that didn't met the family content setting we had set on xbox.

This was a great feature of the old set up, and a BIG step backwards.
