    Problems with my headset game chat in COD.


    I am having trouble with my headsets and controllers. I can hear all of the sounds in game but can’t chat during COD. I can hear myself breathing but can’t hear anyone else and they can’t hear me. On Fortnite if I unplug my headphones and plug them back in it typically starts working but not on call of duty. I have been using a stereo headset adapter for years and never had a problem but I can’t do any chat on COD with or without it anymore. All of my settings on chat are set to public but nothing works. I have been trying multiple controllers and headsets but nothing works. I don’t see how it could be the console but I could be wrong?

    Thank you for the response. My headset worked on another game so apparently COD ghost download has problem with wireless headsets and chats. Thanks again for the help!

    Problems with my headset game chat in COD.

    I am using an Xbox One that is roughly 4 years old and worked on COD until roughly a year ago. My TV is an insignia smart tv roughly 3 years old. As far as I can tell all of my graphics are up to date on both. I can’t hear chat with or without the headphones connected and the only message that pops up when I try to talk says error: not connected.

    To further assist you, I would recommend these troubleshooting steps.

    Method 1: Check your TV and HDMI connections. Please follow steps below.

    1. Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.

    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options.

    3. Select Video fidelity & overscan.

    4. Under Display, select HDMI.

    Method 2: Run the Audio setup tool.

    1. Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide.

    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Volume & audio output.

    3. Select the Audio setup option under Advanced.

    4. Highlight the audio setup option you wish to use and then press the A button  to begin the audio test.

    Note The audio setup options in this list will vary depending on the audio setup your console detects. The console will only display the options that are available to test.

    5. Watch the animations displayed as the test is running to determine if the audio is not playing back through a specific speaker in your setup, and troubleshoot that speaker if you notice any playback errors.

    Based on your description, you are having problem with your headphone wherein you are not heard and can't do chats. This could have been due to graphics issue that your COD game demands for your device.Let's work together to find the best solution to this problem.

    I would like to ask a few questions to better understand the problem.

    • When did the problem started?
    • What was your last activity on your device before you experienced the problem?
    • With regards to your chat's problem, does this only happen if your headphone is connected or this happen even if you are not using headphone?
    • Do you happen to see any error message on your screen? Kindly provide us a photo or screenshot of the error if any.
    • What troubleshooting steps you've already tried to fix the problem?
    • Can I find out the exact version and edition of your Windows operating system? Please provide us with a photo showing the version and edition of your Windows. To do that please open the Run command by pressing Windows key + R on your keyboard, type winver, and click OK. Which version of Windows operating system am I running? - Microsoft Support
    • What is the make and model of your device?
    To further assist you, I would suggest to try these troubleshooting steps;

    Method 1: Check for Windows updates. That way, you can get the updated version of your Windows. Be sure to restart the device after the update to fully install the updates. Update Windows - Microsoft Support
