Problems with in game chat

I apologize if this topic post is in the wrong place, but I really need some help!!

So I have been using a pair of astro a40's for a few months now, actually was using them before the chat adapter came out, but now I seem to be having issues. I switched routers recently, and it seems like everything got messed up after that too.

Here is the router I have now - Verizon Actiontec mi424wr rev. I

The problem is that I can't hear other players over the in game chat. my mic shows that i'm speaking, but I can't hear incoming chat. Now i messed with the router settings, trying a bunch of different things. I tried port forwarding, using a dmz, turning
upnp off and on. I was able to get my NAT from moderate to open, but that didn't do much. Now, If I reset the router and turn off my xbox, when i boot it all back up, the game chat will work for a short time, but then pretty much shuts off. If the controller
dies or i unplug the chat adapter or any connected wires, it won't work again when i plug it back in or turn the controller back on. that was all with my astro a40's. so after all that, i thought it might be the headset, so bought a new pair just to test,
got the earforce X07's. same problem, chat works when i fire up the xbox, works for about 2-3 games, then shuts off again. I've talked to astro and ms, and I can't seem to get any answers. anyone having similar problems or have any advice??

sorry for the long post, but i have been trying to fix this for like 4 weekends, and i have just become extremely frustrated. if anyone has any input that would be really awesome.

Haven't had any problems.......... with the problems you're having, having party chat / game chat problems though.

 

Problems with chat and game invites

Ohhhhh let me tell ya!!!!!1 I have been having nonstop problems with my friends joining each other for weeks now! lol

We spend hours trying to get everyone in a party without getting error codes, disconnection from servers, no notifications, not hearing eachother with our mics, "unable to join" messages. We end up texting and fb messaging eachother trying to work it out
and we all get frustrated >.<

Our mics always stop working and we have to reset our xboxs many times a night. We have been having so many issues. =(

We celebrate and cheer when we get a party going with no problems.

 

I have never had issues with my Astro's. I bought the chat adapter and updated my controller via usb port and then updated the firmware on my Astro's. Have you tried either of those?

 

Just started having the same issue today with the xbox chat adapter. Funny thing is it works just fine over skype, but when i play say Call of Duty, i can see mic icons light up, as well as my own, yet i hear nothing. Haven't been able to find any help either!

Sorry to hear about the chat issues. Just to make sure that we are not missing any troubleshooting steps, I would like you to try a few steps to see if we can get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a shot:

• Press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 5 seconds.
• Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Leave the console unplugged for 5 minutes and plug in your console.
• Power on your console.
• Check that your privacy settings allow communications with everyone.
• Unmute the person you are trying to chat with.

This is happening to me on every online game too.It is also happening to people on the gaming forum GameFAQS, & my future brother-in-laws chat and he's in the same house.Unfortunately Mister Quimby, that is not a permanent fix.I updated my router, shut off
both the modem, router, held the power button for 5 seconds & unplugged my console for a little over 5 minutes, & it just temporarily fixes the issue, and even when it's "fixed" I can only hear certain people, and I can see other people's chat icon light up,
but I don't hear them, yet everyone else does.

Within a few matches or so, it starts doing the same thing.It either does one of the few things.....It will either show people talking & I can't hear anyone, I unplug my mic, plug it back in, & it doesn't show that I'm talking at all, I can only hear certain
people, but can't hear my future Brother-in-law, none of it works yet Party chat does, or nothing at all does......We both even went out of our way thinking it was our headsets (the ones that come with every Xbox One) & exchanged them for a new one at gamestop,
only to still have the same issue....There has to be some xbox live issue with chat going on here......

 

Same issue. My NAT says open in xbox settings but moderate on Call of duty ghosts. Been happening since I got the chat adapter.

 

COD Ghosts uses non-standard ports for some reason, so you need to manually forward 3075 and 3076 TCP and UDP to your Xbox One to get open NAT in Ghosts...

 

Twiz and I seem to have the same problem. I wasn't able to check how it was working this weekend, but everything that Microsoft told me to do didn't help much, only for a very short time. Hoping this may get resolved in a future update.

 

Whas there ever a fix for this??? Im still having this issue and recieved temporary results with trouble shooting. Now the troubleshooting doesnt even help at all.... Its obscene that these things werent fixed. I bought mine back in january. Nothing is being
done by microsoft for a fix

 

I'm having the issue that just started this week. I can't hear anyone anymore. I'm not sure what changed because I never had this problem before. Was there an update in the past two weeks?

 

Manually changing the TCP ports isn't the answer if it was working just a few weeks ago and now it doesn't

 

Are you maybe playing Diablo 3 already?!

 

I fixed it my going into settings>display &sound>Chat mixer and switched it to do nothing
