Problems with headset adapter, I'm using Turtle Beach X07 Headset. Don't buy the Polk ...

So I recently bought the Turtle Beach X07 headset which sounds pretty good, extremely comfortable, hardy and cancels out outside noise very well. But on day two of owning the headset I could no longer communicate through the mic. The first thing I did was
test out the adapter with my RIG heads set. Sound still works but the mic doesn't. So I could assume there was a problem with the adapter.

I brought the headset back and was told I should get the Polk 4 shot instead as it was just as good and I would get $50 back in hand ,so I went with the Polk 4 shot. Big mistake! The product is flimsy and its put together in a shabby way. The sound was nearly
as good as my RIG headset. Back to the shop to exchange again back to the X07s.

I get home, set it all up for it to work, yay, but this wasn't to last. The mic stopped working after the controller turned itself off. I then re-updated with the battery out and the mic was working again.

Now it has stopped working again!! I'm guessing if I re-install the update it will work again. Is there going to be a fix for this?

Just to add insult to injury I'd like to express that my original chat headset that came with the console stopped working 2 weeks after I bought the console.

    :)

Hello? Anyone from Xbox care to elaborate????

All I can see is Xbox trying to peddle stuff that I seem to be having problems with. Do I need to buy another xbox one, another adapter, another mic????

Are Playstation consumers having this kind of crap?

Same issue here with the XO4s. They were working fine up until Sunday, when the mic just wouldnt' work anymore. I had to do a hard reset by holding down the power button for 10s. That got the mic working again. Then, last night, once again the same issue
occurred, and I had to do another hard reset. It seems that if I turn on the controller with the puck plugged in, and no headset/mic plugged in, it corrupts something until I do a hard reset.

Not only that, when it does work, the controller just turns off multiples times in a 3 hours session. The light and everything stays on, just the controller turns off. I have to double click/hold the xbox button to shut it off and back on. I'm about to
send TB an email about this issue too.

  6. I also have an XO7 and this happened to me as well. As soon as the battery died on the controller, the mic no longer worked. For me, however, the mic isn't fixed after hard resetting the remote. Maybe I'm not doing it correctly, though. I'll try that again
    when I get home.

It's very frustrating because this is clearly a firmware issue on Xbox's end, whether it be with the controller or the stereo headset adapter, yet every time I speak to an Xbox representative, they tell me to send the adapter back for repair.

Xbox needs to communicate to 3rd party vendors that the issue is known and so they can let their customers know to either

    1) return the headset and adapter to Turtle Beach or whatever vendor they purchased from

    2) return the adapter to Xbox for one that works

    3) wait for a firmware update

It's upsetting that there clearly hasn't been any internal communication about the issue with their representatives, because each one I talk to isn't aware of the issue.

Red Oyster Cult I got the same response, To return the headset and adapter. It really annoys me because I know it's the adapter, I don't want to harm the reputation of a company who is making a product that works. I've already returned one headset to realize
    it's Microsoft at fault.

AnotherStatue I have over 50gig of installed content from one game. I've over half filled my hard drive with 5 games. If that worked for you and you are ok with that, good for you; however, that is not a viable option for me.

I'm almost at breaking point. If this isn't resolved within the week I'm trading this console and the games for a PS4.

  9. I don't even want it resolved as much as acknowledgement of the issue so I know if a fix is being developed. If it's an edge case (I don't think it is), I'd be Hally to exchange it and move on. If it's firmware, its just going to keep happening

Do any of you have a second controller you would be able to try with your headsets?

For some reason, post-update my headset's mic would not work with the controller I normally used, so I updated a second controller I had and the headset has worked perfectly on that one for a few days now.

Note: I'm not advocating you go out and buy a second controller. But if you have one, it would be interesting to see if that also works for you.

  11. I get this problem a lot. The only way I can fix it is to reboot my xbox. Then the mic starts working again.

Thank you for this thread as the Trouble Shooting one that is standard for XBox was completely useless when trying their methods. My Turtle Beach X07 microphone is also having this issue. The response with a hard reset is the only thing that has helped.
That is also temporary Problems with headset adapter, I'm using Turtle Beach X07 Headset. Don't buy the Polk ... :( This stuff is extremely pricey to only work like this.

3 days ago my xbox started saying my discs were dirty or damaged, even my new Titanfall disc. Oh and my controller just started to randomly turn off, even thought the light was still on.

This is hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a product. It's starting to make my angry and fustrated.
