  3. Xbox Controller problem?

    Hello,

I have been having problems with talking with some of my friends with my skullcandy headphones(with the wire that has the mic with it) And it's been not letting me speak with them but only to hear them through the headphones. I have tried updating The controller
but it just Says:"Please make sure Usb cable is firmly plugged in". Please help it's been happening for 2 weeks now and there's nothing wrong with my headphones.

    -Sincerely,

Could use a bit more information, like what kind of headset it is, there are tons of different headsets out there and they don't all operate the same way.

My best guess is that you're using a headset that plugs into the 3.5mm jack and has no inline volume/mute buttons?

Try this. Start at the Home screen. Press the guide button to bring up the slide out menu and navigate over to the system tab (should be the last one on the right if memory serves). You'll see a link to settings on that tab, but what you're looking for (and
hopefully you'll see it) is a "audio" link just under it. If it's there, click on it and that will bring up a menu with volume and chat mixer options.

You may also want to make sure your controller(s) are up to date, especially if it's a new headset, but I doubt this is the case, since you've already been in that menu and would've seen that there was an update available when you saw that the volume option
    is greyed out.

hi my son headset is Turtle Beach Recon 50x. I have gone into audio and I believe the settings are correct for the chat mixer. It’s just really strange as they were working and all of a sudden whilst he was chatting to someone they stopped working. But the
new Turtle beach headset don’t work either, it’s making wonder if it is the controllers

  7. I found a setup instruction guide on the TB Recon 50x for Xbox One here. Don't know if it will be helpful
or not, but at least worth a look to see if it's just something that is being overlooked.

"...It’s just really strange as they were working and all of a sudden whilst he was chatting to someone they stopped working..." When you say they stopped working, do you mean all sound stopped or just the ability to hear the
other person? NAT issues can cause chat problems, but it shouldn't cause loss of game sound.
To check if there is a NAT issue, go to Settings and select Network and check to see if the NAT type is open. If it says "strict" or "moderate" this can cause problems with communicating with certain people online.

I'm not aware of any controllers that have had known problems with headsets, but I have heard of some people having trouble with Xbox One S controllers. My wife has a Afterglow headset that was (still is) causing static and other
noises (Xbox One S controller). Unplugging and re-plugging them will typically fix it, but not always and only temporarily. Since you said you tried another controller, I kind of doubt it's that... but you never know.

thank you. I have done the set up but still not working.

My son was playing and you know you get the symbol if headset connected it just shows a microphone with a cross through as though he disconnected his headphones. As though he lost connection between the headset and Xbox. He took his headphones to his friends
and they work perfectly but still not working here. When putting slowly putting the connector into the controller you can hear as though they are going to connect but when fully in the jack there not sound or static

  9. There's a possibility to help narrow down the problem. When you said it made you wonder if it's the controllers... did you take a controller to his friend's house or just the headphones? Since the headphones seem to work there, you could take your son's
controller and headphones (if you didn't before) to his friend's place and use them there for awhile. If it works, then you know it isn't the controller. If it still doesn't work, but it does work with his friend's controller, that pretty much narrows the
    problem down to your controller.
