Problems with game disc stripping

Hello , I have the GTA V game for Xbox One on physical media for a few years now and it is peeling and I can't play anymore because the Xbox does not read the disc. I was wondering
if I can get a digital version of the game to compensate for the poor quality of the disc. Other games are also peeling and soon I will lose them too.

No. The only way to get a digital version if all you have is the disc version would be to purchase said digital version.

Check the disc for scratches along the disc data strip. (Inner ring in disc found just above the strip that reads xbox xbox xbox)

If it's scratched in that area, often a buff with a microfiber cloth will polish it up will suffice.

Playing disc based games with the Energy saving setting on doesnt make a difference for me. Playing Halo: MCC from a disc and it will just turn off on me in the middle of a match. I have tried connecting directly to a wall outlet as opposed to a power strip
and the problem persists. as a matter of fact my Box has been connected to a power strip the entire year that I've had it with no problem until now. The fact that your new box is having the same issue is definitely troubling. I have no clue what else it could
be if not some type of update issue with XBL.

If you don't want to swap discs then go digital. Simple. I'm 50/50 physical and digital these days because there are games which aren't keepers.

I often think the solution for installed games not requiring a disc could have been to implement a microchip or metallic strip somewhere near the very inner of the disc, the XB1 could read the chip/strip if the disc was within a certain distance of the console.
Say 5-10 feet. It would mean you could play the game if you owned it without having to insert it into the XB1. Simple!

Hello, I have this problem plenty times with one disc in question. Ended up buying the same disc twice....STILL DIDN'T WORK!! In return I feel as though I will ONLY purchase digital grom here on out. I'm an adult player, all games are in brand new condition
kept in case. No reason at all why my fisc should not work. Via MS I was told the disc was having an error reading the purchase strip on disc. Was tomd it was a common problem. All kinds of TS help failed!!! Still no reason at all why disc just stopped working.
