problems with a friend (no NAT, its open)

hello guys! I'm havindg a bit of trouble with connecting to one single friend i love to play online with. When I am online i can play wathever i want without internet issues, also im playing LAN. But when i join this particular friend suddenly my internet
go's from best to worse and i leave the party and or game. i've already tried some things like rebooting router etc. but this al doesnt work for me or my friend.

I hope that one of you guys knows a little tip.

please help me!

Party chat error help!

I never got any problems on Xbox 360. My friend has a open NAT too... its really weird

 

Possible alternative for the broken party chat?

Ive spoken to them about this,xbox that is,"if your nat is not on open,you will have problems joining games and your friends online,especially when it comes to party chat on the xb1" is what they have said,so check your nat in settings.Ive had no problems
with it on open,when it was on moderate I had loads.

 

Maybe it's a problem on your friend's end?

May you provide us with some more details on your network environment please?

How is your NAT? Are you having portforwarding configured or are you using DMZ? What's your friend using?

 

i play with open NAT and for my friend the same. He is also on LAN.

with portforwarding i guess you mean the ports on the router wich has to be open for NAT?

and i have no clue about DMZ so help is appreciated!

 

Yes, that's what portforwarding is. Guess you have it configured then.

DMZ is the demilitarized zone which describes a part in your network between the Internet (or better your public IP) and your firewall. So if putting a device in the DMZ you put in outside of your firewall protected home network. This is useful for servers
which need to be accessible from out of the Internet. And for your gaming console as it needs to be accessible from there, too. By portforwarding you make certain pinholes in your firewall pointing to a certain device, by putting the device in the DMZ you
place it outside the firewall so it will get all ports without forwarding them.

So it's easier to setup the one in the DMZ as you do not need to configure portforwarding then and especially you will never have to add certain ports if a new released game needs ports you have not forwarded yet.

because im getting kind of desperate about how to solve this and i want to play my games with my friend

could it be that my friend has to put his xbox on his dmz?

 

and maby that it helps but since yesterday when i join my friend i get in a party on my own so it doesn't say anymore that i can't connect to his party.

 

I'd prefer isn't DMZ if possible as is the easiest way to set the network up for the one.

What happens if you start a party and your friend tries to join you?

 

the problem isn´t only on xbox one, its also on my 360. when he tried to join my party yesterday on 360 he eventually ended up in a party on his own just like if he started his own one. the same happens vice a versa.

on the one i will try it out today and i will try to set our xbox both on the dmz

 

Please try to restart the modems before testing, too.

Years ago we had a problem with a German provider, where it was impossible to join parties each other when being on different segments / ip ranges of this provider's network. Could be fixed sometimes with a modem restart. (Meanwhile the provider fixed this
issue.)

Please be also aware that using a Xbox One and a 360 simultaneously may cause problems, too. If using DMZ you may need to switch between the One and the 360 depending on which one you use.

But as it turns out it seems not to be a problem related to the One but to (I guess) the network of your friend.

im switchng a lot between one and 360 but my brother plays all the time on the one, could this maby cause some problems?
