    Problems when trying to use Rivals Mode


    A few days ago, Rivals Mode stopped working for me, when it would try and load rivals the game would lock up and after about 5 seconds or so it will exit back to the main menu.

    It was working previously which is strange.

    I tried hard restarting my console, deleting my save data from the xbox, even re-downloading the game, same thing happens.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Freezes when trying to connect for rivals mode

    Dont worry, I ended up losing my level 58 and all my purchases on credits because of this, trying to find a resolution. I bet you I don't get any of that back Problems when trying to use Rivals Mode :(

    Freezes when trying to connect for rivals mode

    Freezes when connecting for opponents in free play and rivals. All I can play is the base game campaign basically and local multiplayer match play. I enjoy this game too much to not be able to access every mode available.

  6. Hey there, DJB!

    I'm sorry to see any issues in Powerstar Golf! It sounds like it might be an issue with your save on the cloud.

    Previously, there was a way you could "delete from everywhere" for save games. That has been removed, and now there is only the option for local saves to be deleted (as I am sure you are aware).

    One of the things we can try to resolve this will force a new save, and will make you lose everything that you've built up. I get that it's a frustrating experience, however since you tried another account and have already reinstalled the game, I'm of the
    mind that this is the very last option. I'll give you the steps to overwrite the save below, but wanted to ensure you understood what this will do before offering it. Honestly, if I was told to have to do this with my Powerstar Golf save, I wouldn't want to
    do it, either; I've done so much in that game on my personal account that would not be fun to lose.

    What I want you to try first, though, is
    removing and re-adding your profile
    to the console. You didn't mention this as something you have tried, and it may just be that simple of a resolution! Give that a shot for me.

    For the save overwrite, make sure the console is set up as
    your Home Console
    . Then delete the save on your console as you have previously. Disconnect your console from the internet, and put it into

    Offline Mode
    . Play Powerstar Golf a bit offline to create a new save. Once you're happy with where you are, connect back up to the internet and make sure you're fully connected. The next time you launch Powerstar Golf, it should ask you if you want to use
    the local save or the cloud save. This is important: Use the local save. That will overwrite the cloud save with the new information, and you can attempt to do Rivals mode or check out your friend's Caddies to see if you're all set.

    Let me know if this helps out. I really do understand that getting rid of all of your content for a game that takes a while to build things up in isn't ideal. Understand that I empathize, and hope the profile removal is what gets you sorted out. Problems when trying to use Rivals Mode :)

    Still the same issue, this is a list of things I have tried:

    - Factory Resetting Xbox (luckily I have all my games on External HDD)

    - Completely clearing the save from cloud + xbox

    - Making sure my Xbox to Home Xbox

    - Trying playing offline for a while, creating a new save

    So, in conclusion, its something with my Profile that it doesn't like I'm starting to think, as factory resetting is pretty much the same as re-downloading the profile.

    Or is it possibly a friend on my list it's colliding with? I don't want to have to delete all my friends off my list to find out lol.

    So, basically, at the moment, I'm back to level 1 (after level 57 and many purchases of coins to upgrade my gear) and still stuck playing the game offline Problems when trying to use Rivals Mode :(

    I'm so sorry to see it didn't resolve it. I was hesitant to suggest it because I couldn't be sure that it would, and risking losing all of your data isn't the most ideal of situations.

    Factory resetting is definitely the same as re-downloading.

    I don't suggest deleting your friends off your list; I'm not sure it would be that unless you went on another profile and added them all. I do appreciate you being thorough!

    Before I look into other options, I'm going to chat with a guy on my team who has delved deeply into Powerstar Golf. I'll admit it's been over a year since I last played, so he might be able to give me another idea here.

    While I am doing that, can you
    give support a ring
    in your region? Explain the situation, everything you've done, and then see if they can get you to another team to investigate your account issues. If they can't, or don't, let me know, along with a reference number they should provide
    you. If they don't offer one, ask them to send you an email with a brief summary of what you guys talked about; this will have a reference number in the subject for me. I'll need that if we need to go through my steps on my end. Problems when trying to use Rivals Mode :)

  9. Alright! After talking with my coworker, he believes that it might be related to privacy settings. On the
    Xbox One Privacy Settings page, push everything to "Allow". After that, try loading up Rivals. If that doesn't work, then you can set it back to what it was.

    Do this before reaching out to support for me, so they know you've checked that, too. Let me know how the chat goes! Problems when trying to use Rivals Mode :)
