Problems streaming video on Xbox browsers

Though Microsoft Edge may be a good browser, it is important to note that the console was not designed to stream movies like that on third party sites unless the page and video player are supported.

If you are using a reputable site that perhaps has an app, such as Netflix or Hulu, I would suggest downloading said app and attempting to watch the media there.

If it did work at one point though, it could be a networking issue. I would suggest checking your network and making sure that it's up to Xbox Live criteria outlined in
Network settings on Xbox One.

Any live stream video on YouTube can only be watched on a browser mainly so that YouTube and the live stream provider can sell ads.

Also it seems that you can not watch said live via the Xbox IE browser as it seems the video uses Flash when streaming and since Xbox doesn't support flash the content is not watchable

We are sorry that you are experiencing problems with your Microsoft product, based on your description, it seems that you are using the browser to watch a video on your Xbox console but it crashes after 20 minutes or so, you can try updating your Xbox console.

Restarting the Console: Press and hold the "Xbox" button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds to turn off the console. The console will shut down. Turn the console back on by pressing the "Xbox" button on the console or controller. Check for updates: Go to Settings > System > Updates. If it says "Host Update Available", install the latest update.



Remember that the Edge browser on Xbox is designed for basic browsing tasks, not video streaming. For security reasons, the browser has access to a limited number of resources, which may cause problems when playing videos, especially higher quality videos. If you wish to stream video on Xbox, we recommend switching to the official streaming apps available in the Xbox Store. These apps are optimized for consoles, while the website is for PC and mobile browsers.

Same problem. If I try and stream a video (anything on PBS.org for instance) I get booted to the home screen. No error code or anything. I have tried the Internet Browser app but this has the same problem. PLEASE FIX.

And on top of what he said, just visiting websites like reddit, the browser crashes within a minute of scrolling and i have to refresh over and over again. YouTube.com doesn't work at all and i mean even before the new youtube layout came out it wouldnt
work right. I dont want to use an app. Ever. I cant read comments... i cant find things the same way as on a browser. I ditched buying computers ever again because i was satisfied with my xbox ones capabilities but the last year or so has been browsing hell.
I am sure there is no good excuse. Fix it. Now, please, whatever word u wanna hear to get it done.
