Problems Streaming Rental Movies?

Evening all,

Over the years I've rented numerous films from the Xbox Store and not once have I experienced issues with streaming.

This weekend I rented a film and both last night and this evening my wife and I have been unable to watch it. A combination of pixelisation, stuttering and buffering have have meant that it's just not worth our while siting down and attempting to view it.

I'm on Virgin Media, and have tested my connection. I get a decent 48Mbps download speed. I've also tested for packet loss and get 0. If I try streaming YouTube videos on my Mac is runs them flawlessly. If I do it on the 360 a message pops up every so often
telling me that it was unable to connect, even though it's playing the YouTube video without issue.

I also notice that the Xbox site is running like a dog when all other sites I try appear quickly.

Are there Xbox Live network issues currently?

Xbox video - stuttering/juddering picture

Anybody else experience picture problems when streaming movies (rental and purchased) from Xbox Video - the picture seems to stutter/judder all the way through !!

Netflix adding games rental

Netflix didn't add anything. They separated in to two different services. Netflix now only does streaming. And the new disc rental service Quickster, does movies and games. If you want streaming and discs, you have to have an account for each service. And
since I already have two accounts to handle my game rentals and movie streaming, there is no need to change anything.

I had the same issue streaming a rental tonight but it started to work once I reset my router. Im guessing a lot of people are using the service with the free rewards this weekend.

Dan, that's a very good point. I completely forgot about the free rewards. I know people are experiencing problems downloading those.

Will give the router reset a go and see if the wife and I can watch the film tomorrow evening before the deadline kicks in.

I've been having the same issue. I also have a 200Mbps connection with 0% packet loss. My issue is my am able to start the UHD movie and but after 5 seconds the picture freezes and the audio keeps going. I know the issue has to be software related because
I am unable see the "Movies and TV" menu any longer. I can't pause, fast forward, rewind, turn on or off closed captioning, etc. I have to hit the Xbox Button on the Controller and "Quit" the Movies and TV application to get it going again.

When I attempt to watch another movie I own that is HD only, the movie plays perfect.

Has anyone else had this issue? This issue occurs on my following UHD titles: IT, DUNKIRK, & WONDER WOMAN.

If their game rental plans include instant streaming to the Xbox for tv and movies, I will immediately cancel my Gamefly account - - depending on what their prices are like.
