Problems every time I turn it on...

I've been having some issues whenever I turn my console on now. Firstly I have my console set to the 'instant on' option.

The issues I have after turning it on are:

Trying to start an app or game will either do nothing or go full screen with its logo and do nothing or go back to the dashboard.

Attempting to shut down the console with either the controller or just pressing the power button (not holding it) doesnt shut it down instead the xbox logo flashes and the logo on the Kinect flashes also.

For me to be able to use any apps or games I have to perform a hard reset. I've read on these forums that I'm not the only person with these issues. I'm expecting to get the same response as well with plugging the HDMI cable directly into the TV which it
currently is and to have the power cord plugged direcrly into a wall socket, this is impossible for me to do as I don't have any more wall sockets left in my room.

Xbox one restarts every time I turn it on

When you say it "restarts" do you mean it loads up like it's coming back from a Hard Reset (loads through the long green xbox logo screen before hitting the dashboard)? If so, check the power settings and make sure it is set to "Instant On" and you have
the option for shutting down hard drive while off unchecked.

Fifa 18 updates every time I turn it on

every single time I put the game disc in and want to start playing the game wants to install an update. Update takes a while so we now have to turn on the game about half an hour before we want to play it. This has happened every day for about a month now.
Really frustrating. Surely this is not right? Any suggestions?

I have been having the same problems where I boot to a black screen and it just sits there or the flashing xbox logo. Have to unplug the power cord. Pretty weak. Not as weak as my xbox 360 junking out or Halo MCC being completely broken for months on end,
but still pretty weak.

This happens every time I turn on my console now. I have to turn it on, then off, then back on - every bloody time.

This problem isn't being resolved by "turning off the console, then turning it back on" - that's a workaround.

I usually save this as a last resort but have you tried a factory reset of your xbox? Maybe a full reboot of the system might fix the issue, worth a try if you have nothing left to lose. Best of luck
