    Problems during games with Xbox wireless 360 on PC


    Dear members,

    Some days ago I bought myself a Xbox 360 wireless controller and adapter (MS official one) for PC. I installed this devices by plugin in my MS usb Dongle and pairing them, wich eventually worked.

    My idea is to use this controller and dongle for in the living room on steam link in big picture mode. However, the controller works fine with all games within steam, but disconnect on lots of other games during specific actions or use of certain buttons.

    The reasons /actions and buttons varies per game, this can happen by a hit, or using the shoot button in-game. The Xbox controller goes offline and I have to turn it on again. Every time this action repeats it goes offline.

    I have taken several actions like installing different drivers etc. I'm using Windows 10 (official license) and the controller is connected through the official Microsoft wireless dongle. the accu-battery is third party (two accu-batteries which are both
    third party, and the second one doesn't even pair in the first place). However as I said before it works with some games (especially with Steam games), but some not.

    I hope somebody can help me, looking forward to an answer!

    Xbox 360 wired controller connected but not working on Windows 10

    Hello there.

    Xbox 360 wireless controllers only work on PC with the Xbox 360 Wireless PC adapter, they don't work via they Play & Charge cable. Even when you use the cable with an Xbox 360, the controller still uses the Wireless to function and the cable simply provides
    power.

    If you'd like to use a 360 pad with a PC, you either need a wired one, or you'll need one of these:

    Xbox 360 Wireless PC adapter.

    Alternatively, you can use an Xbox One controller. With those, you can connect as you are with a USB cable, or you can connect via Bluetooth (If you have one of the newer controllers which have a rough texture on the back of the hand grips) or with an Xbox
    One Wireless PC adapter.

    Hi,

    Unfortunately unlike the Xbox One controllers, the wireless Xbox 360 controllers remain wireless regardless of whether you connect them to a PC with a Play and Charge. You can't make an Xbox 360 wireless controller a wired controller.

    If you want to use your 360 wireless controller on a PC you'll need to buy an Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows.

    For wireless Xbox 360 controllers, you cannot use the charging cable to connect to a PC (it only transfers power, not data). To use the controller with a PC, you will either need an "Xbox 360 controller for Windows" (non-detachable cable) or use your existing
    wireless controller with the wireless gaming receiver for Windows.

    I'm on wireless with PC only.The xbox 360 and PS3 are wired to the main router.Not sure this the cause of my problem.

    Is the controller a wireless controller or wired? If it is wireless, how are you connecting it? If by using the play & charge kit, then the Xbox 360 controller will not work, as the cable is only recognized on PC for charging only. You need to use a Xbox
    360 Wireless adapter for PC to connect a wireless Xbox 360 controller to your PC.
