Problems downloading Games with Gold from xbox.com for free

ok depends 1st you must have a payment option on filefile to validate if you are an adult or not

Unless the price shows as 15 bucks it is still free as long as you have gold not home gold

And yes home gold only applies on the Xbox one not Xbox 360 marketplace

And no child accounts can't make purchases without an adults consent on an 360 console

Gold X360 backward compatible games will always show you a Buy This Game.

But, that's no problem, click on Buy This Game and you will see Free if your Gold Subscription is valid. You will also need a valid payment associated to your account.

"When I try to download a game from Xbox.com I get a message that says "You have no valid payment options on file." Will I be charged for the free Games with Gold?

You won’t be charged for the Games with Gold download. The Xbox.com Store requires a valid payment option to download Xbox 360 games. However, no charges will be made since Games with Gold is free to Xbox Live Gold members."

http://xbox.com website, it's different from the 2 and 14 day trial that you redeem therefore you can actually use that to download free games under Games with Gold.

You do show as a Gold account here on the forums. Which game are you trying to download for free, a Game With Gold? How are you trying to download it: on xbox.com or on a console? Which console, Xbox 360 or Xbox One? You should be very specific; it
will help people diagnose your problem.

As long as he has a Gold subscription, it shouldn't be a problem - he just purchases them for free from Xbox.com's marketplace and it effectively saves it to his profile for download later when he does have a console available.
