Problems downloading free games

My problem is that when I try to download the free games each month many of them just sit at 0% downloaded for roughly 10 minuets then says cant download dark souls for example I have tried the 2 solutions for this problem downloading the game again did
not work tried clearing system Cache and market place data then restarting my Xbox and downloading the game again still didn't work the third solution i cant try because i don't have a cord to connect my Xbox to the modem so i'm out of options

issue downloading Halo 3

I am having problems downloading halo 3 for free with the gold member promotion after i start the download it automatically says cannot download Halo 3

can someone please figure out why it will not download this game I did not hav problems with and other free games for gold games

Anyone having problems downloading shepherd of fire and R U Mine? My game is telling me they're free, but can't be downloaded... I just wanna play!

 

Which country do you live in and is your gamertag set to the same country? If you are connected via wireless you should consider getting an ethernet cable to try the download. What type and size of hard drive do you have?

 

I live in the United States of America my gamertag is set to the same my hard drive is a 229 GB drive with 77.2 GB of free space I don't know what type its the hard drive that came with the Xbox

 

Is your xbox account set to the u.s.? Did you buy your xbox from the u.s.?

 

I would still suggest connecting via ethernet to see if that helps. Wireless could be the issue here.

 

I will try that but i cant get a Ethernet cord for about 4 days so if their are other things I can try before then let me know

 

i have tried the Ethernet cord and tried downloading the game again but it still sat at 0 % for 10 minutes then said it failed to download i tried repeating solution 2 with the Ethernet cord and cleared system cache and market place data then restarting
the Xbox and downloading it again but same thing happened 0% for 10 minutes then said download failed so i have nothing left to try

 

ok did you contact your isp?

sometimes hard reseting your modem and router for 5mins helps

sometimes it takes a ip address reset which your isp can help you with

also are you talking about continential US or a military base or a territory

if a military base then you aren't in the us but on foreign base which uses a foreign isp which would be causeing your problem

 

heres a couple things to try:

1. flat out cancel the DL, delete any associated files try re DL-ing it. (no brainer, think youve already tried this)

2. or the slightly more complex - sign out of XBL, clear your HDD cache, sign back in, then retry the DL.

3. IF you have an older model 360, with a detachable HDD, carefully disconnect it, re-attach it (power off) then retry the first two steps.

of all the above, technically it SHOULD work, unless theres a region problem, or something like that.?

one can eliminate a potential problem with wireless connectivity, because one cannot sign into sign into xbl; if theres a problem with the wireless itself. (obviously)

i live in Colorado i will try the modem reset i don't know what a isp is

i can try flat out deleting the dl with one of the games but the rest of the games would cost money to download again i have tried the deleting dl way back when the problem started with the first game dead rising 2 but it had no effect i will try signing
out and clearing the cache i have the newer model the Xbox 360 s so i cant easily remove the hard drive

 

ISP is your internet service provider. As for the hard drive there is a vent cover near the back of the console on the right hand side. There is a button to push to pop it open and the hard drive can be safely disconnected that way.
