problems connecting to xbox live through redeem codes

so brought a brand new xbox one that came with a game on the 31st oct, tried using the redeem code that came with the game, this code was accepted, but when it came to using the xbox gold on the game it say i need xbox gold to continue,

now the code is for 14 day, i put the code in on the 2nd nov.

So my brother(beelzebub110) has an account on the same xbox one and he went out and got a game that came with a 2 day redeem code for xbox gold, that was inputted and accepted, and is having the same problem as me.

i can see this happening to 1 persons account, but for it to be both accounts on a new xbox, leaves me to find this a little worrying that this has happened

This is of course part of the launch growing process but it's being reported that Xbox One users are having issues with accessing multiplayer, redeeming their Xbox Live codes and using Squad Assualt in COD: Ghosts. It's official because Microsoft has put a message about the problem on the Xbox Live Status page. How to Redeem a Code on Xbox One - QR Code or 25 Character Code

Hey guys! Okay, so you need to figure out how to redeem codes on the Xbox One? Well, there are a few ways of doing this.

1.

• Login to Xbox.com (top right hand side)
• In the top bar, mouse over Xbox Live Gold
• You'll see 'Redeem Code' in the drop down list
• Click 'Redeem' and enter your 25 digit code!

If your code is a game or DLC, it will automatically start downloading once you login to your Xbox, unless you have your Xbox in standby, which will allow it to download right away!

• From the main page of the Xbox One dashboard, scroll to the right to the 'Games' section and select that section -or- If your Kinect is connected, say "Xbox, Use a Code"
• If you have a QR code (that square looking code thing), you can hold it up to your Kinect to redeem it.
• If you have a 25 digit code, in the lower left of the screen, you have the option to "enter the 25-character code." Click that and enter your code. Confirm your code and you're all set!

Your item will automatically download. Enjoy!

I have had the same problem i got the new white xbox one and also put my 14 day code in yesterday but today wont allow me in party or online games .
