    Hi,

    For the past few days, since last Friday, we've had trouble connecting to xbox live. We are usually able to connect to our internal network and a connection test results inn the message that our network is good but that there are problems on the MS side.
    I see that content and download has had issues since Dec. 12. We first noticed problems last week with significant lag and buffering in Netflix and YouTube. IF we now try and start IE, Netflix or YouTube, we get a syncing data message for a while then a
    message that the applications cannot be sync'ed. My son is trying to update Destiny but isn't getting anywhere and any apps that use xbox live appear to be broken. I've rebooted my wireless router (AT&T Uverse) several times and all other devices in the house
    are connected and functioning properly.

    Any suggestions?

    I've been having problems connecting to Xbox live for the past two days. My account is current and had not had an issue till last friday when I tried to connect. I get error code 831188FE. Please help!!!

    Sorry to hear about the connection issues! Can you post back with your network hardware information, such as the brand name and model numbers of your router and modem? That information will help us a lot! problems connecting to xbox live for the past several days :)

    Our service provider is AT&T Uverse. The router is an AT&T Uverse router (Arris NVG589). There is also a wireless access point plugged into the router and sitting next to it. Other devices in the house are connected just fine. We first noticed a problem
    with excessive buffering in Netflix last week. I rebooted the router (several times) to try and resolve that problem. We are connecting to Xbox Live and my son can see his online friends but he can't re-install Destiny nor do any apps that use the internet
    work (Netflix, YouTube, Vudu, Internet Explorer). Checking advanced network settings the IP numbers, DNS, etc., all look right. Running a "Test Connection" either results in a message that everything is good or that our network is good but some MS services
    are having issues (purchases and content since last Friday).

    I have a few more questions:

    1. Are you running a wired or wireless connection?
    2. Do you have more than one Xbox console in your home?
    3. Could you post back with the each detailed network statistics from the Xbox One?
    To check detailed network statistics, follow the steps below:

    • Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
    • In the Settings menu, select 'Network'.
    • In the Network menu, select 'Detailed Network Statistics'.

    We are wireless. The router and modem are in another part of the house. Connecting via an Ethernet cable really isn't practical. We have a 360 in the house but it is very seldom on now. Here are the detailed network statistics:

    Download speed: 0.00 Mbps

    Upload Speed: 1.55 Mbps

    Packet Loss: 1%

    MTU: 1480

    Latency: 153 ms

    Wireless Strength: 90%

    I've added a wifi booster in the problem room. Even with 100% wifi signal, the download speed was terrible (0.01 mbps). I've connected the xbox one to the wifi repeater via an ethernet cable and the problems seem to have cleared (download speed of 13.9
    mbps). Has the wifi card in the xbox started to go bad?

    It doesn't sound like the wireless adapter in your Xbox One console is going bad. It may be that there are too many objects in between your Xbox One console and your router. For every wall your router passes through, it adds a few feet of distance to the
    device that's trying to connect. I recommend sticking to your wired connection, as that seems to be much more reliable! problems connecting to xbox live for the past several days :)

    I've tried all of the above and still can't get a fix.....so frustrating - have made multiple attempts to contact support, no response via chat or phone call requests on multiple attempts - please help!!

    It doesn't sound like the wireless adapter in your Xbox One console is going bad. It may be that there are too many objects in between your Xbox One console and your router. For every wall your router passes through, it adds a few feet of distance to the
    device that's trying to connect. I recommend sticking to your wired connection, as that seems to be much more reliable! :)
