    Hi Xbox!

    I'm having a problem when I was setting up my Xbox One this morning. Ever since I created my very first profile for Xbox 360 I've utilized my yahoo account where I keep my gamertag Razor Angel 360. I've stored all my savings, progress and points through all
    my gaming years. Now I'd like to set up and start playing the One-games but I cannot access my yahoo account. Everytime they ask me to log into my account, they ask me to send a verification key that never comes. I tried to log in via the computer but I could
    only access the only Microsoft-account that I've never used with the gamertag instead.

    Is there any way where I can delete my gamertag and transfer over all progress I've done on my yahoo-account onto my Microsoft account? I'd love to be able to continue playing on Xbox One without losing my progress I've been fighting for many
    years now and I do wanna be able to play with my gamertag Razor Angel 360 too. It would be wonderful if I could log in to my Microsoft-account and use my Razor Angel 360 there, since things became troublesome for me when Microsoft decided it should be forced
    Microsoft-accounts rather than any e-mail address as you please. It would be really horrible if I have to start from square one again, after fighting really hard for my achievements, getting the Recon-armor on Halo 3 and their hardest campaign co-op achievements
    and much more.

    Your parent's email being a Yahoo! Email is not really a problem.

    But from the sound of it, the email wasn't made a Live ID account yet.

    Let me explain:

    The Xbox Live service authenticates users by the "Microsoft Account" (or formerly Live ID).

    The username for this Microsoft Account "looks like" an email address.

    If you use Microsoft services like Hotmail/Outlook, Live.com and the likes, the username that looks like an email, is in fact an email on the Live service.

    If you use a third party email like Yahoo, Gmail, other freemail services or your own domain, then these email adresses are
    NOT YET a Microsoft Account.

    In order to resolve that, your parents have to go to
    https://signup.live.com     and make their Yahoo Email a Microsoft account.

    REMEMBER! When your parents create a Microsoft Account with their Yahoo Address, that this Microsoft Account is a
    SEPARATE account from the Yahoo Service. While the Microsoft Account Username
    LOOKS LIKE the Yahoo Email, it is just a string of characters, that resembles the Yahoo Address, but has no connection to the Yahoo email otherwise.

    This means that the Password can (and should be) different from the Yahoo Email.

    Additionally, if the Yahoo Email should get deleted, the Microsoft Account with the Yahoo email will
    continue to exist!

    So to sum it up: Your parents need to
    create a Microsoft Account with the Yahoo Email     first.

    Do I have to use hotmail email?

    I go on live.com or hotmail.com and sign in with my yahoo account. I click on my avatar and click account settings. I then click account alias and put in my yahoo email. I don't want my XBL account to be with Microsoft but instead to be with my yahoo email.
    I cannot remove my account aliases (yahoo email) because I will need another primary alias.

    Hi there Razor,

    By chance when you log into your Yahoo and Microsoft accounts are you using the same browser on a Windows machine?

    I have this problem when I try to log into my hotmail account on my Windows computer because it's not my primary Window's login. I have to use Chrome/Firefox to log into my secondary accounts.

    Recover Old Xbox 360 Account (Continued)

    Be aware that your Microsoft Account email (even if it is a Yahoo Address), is just a string of characters resembling your Yahoo Address.

    So even if the Yahoo Address is deactivated, as long as you know the password for your Microsoft Account, you can sign into your Microsoft Account.

    The only connection between your Microsoft Account and the Yahoo email is that it looks like a Yahoo email. If it's possible, you can simply create the same email new on Yahoo, and use that to send recovery emails to that address.

    Also, if you have set up multiple addresses or added your phone number as security info, Microsoft could send you password recovery mails or codes to these addresses or phone numbers. So you might not need the Yahoo address.

    As soon as you have gotten access to your account again, simply change your primary sign in email to a different up to date email.

    Redeem your code or gift card it'll be added to...

    Sign into your Microsoft Account that you currently use, and check if the Yahoo email is still there as a sign in alias. Set your currently used email as your primary alias.

    If the Yahoo Email is not the primary alias, you are actually using two separate Microsoft Accounts.

    Even if you don't know the password for the Yahoo Address, you should still be able to use your Microsoft Account, as the Yahoo Email is just a username for the Microsoft service and has no actual connection to your Yahoo Mail. So even if you don't have
    access to your old Yahoo email, you should still be able to sign into your Microsoft Account with the Yahoo Mail as username.

    If you still have access to your Microsoft Account with the Yahoo Email, you should change the primary sign in alias to your current email.
