    Sorry about that hard drive issue, there are a growing number if people reporting the issue. There is nothing else to do but wait it out as you say, although some people are only experiencing the problem with USB 2.0 drives, I don't have a USB 2.0 drive
    to test that theory out.

  3. I don't know if it'll work for you but I contacted support with the same problem about a music USB drive and formatting did the trick. I recently read that the formatting must be done in FAT32 in another forum, so that might be it. Worked for me, hope it
    works for you.

    Hello again, I don't suppose you have access to a 360 at all ?

    As weird as this may seem some people with that particular drive have formatted the hard drive on a 360, then hooked it up to the Xbox One and voila problem solved.

    Hi if i sound [MOD REMOVED - Forum Guidelines] its cos i am

    came on yesterday had a update for the stupid new dash crap

    since then i have not been abul to talk to other people to clear this part up i can

    hear people and game

    xbox says headset is connected and working

    i have bought a new headset <---- really [MOD REMOVED - Forum Guidelines] me off

    changed controllers changed adaptors

    tried every fix in xbox live fix it area spent 3 hours in talks with xbox staff done every thing that can be done to resolve this

    this new xbox dashboard idea is the most moronic thing in the world the old xbox 360 one was both

    BETTER

    and worked

    easyer to navigate

    like all morons you need to make it better for yourselves cos now its 10 time harder to do the simplist of things that the 360 let you do in like 2 bottons

    so question one

    how do i fix the proble you people gave me with a forced update

    Hello,

    I recently updated my xbox one console. After the update, one of my games, which was working properly before the update, has stopped working. I insert the disc, the game screen logs in but I'm led to the home screen after a few seconds. I was directed yesterday
    by the xbox ambassador to reset my console. I acted accordingly and the game played! However, when I turned on my console today to play the game, the same problem occurred. Please help.

  12. I am having major issues after the latest update this month of Aug 2016. I see the issues on the game the Division where I had no issues until this update. Now, I am getting game lag, game jump, character jumps, game freeze been making playing the game almost
    impossible how can I fix this issue caused by this last update. ? PS. My x1 Elite 1 TB system is new about 3 months old I do not think it is my unit.

    after the update my console makes some strange sounds . first when I turn it off , on next day also when I start the console, i t sounds like the fan or cd will speed up for 1or 2 secs, then the console works normaly till Iturn shut down, then there comes
    a realy bad sound, before the update I had never heard this. sry for my bad english, I hope someone could understand and help.

  14. Since the update, my Xbox freezes whenever I try to play a game or run an app. It also won't power down unless I hold the power button in for 5 seconds. Right now its just a paperweight...

    There are a few reports of this issue over on the preview forums so you are not alone, some have formatted the drive and it then works fine. Not great if you have a heap of media on the drive.

    Hey there Requix!

    Sorry to hear that you're having problems with that recent update.

    I split your post from the previous thread so that we could make sure to tailor support to your situation's need.

    If you're having problems getting that stuff to come up, I would suggest trying what we call a soft reset of your console.
    It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

    Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
    will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

    Also make sure that you select the option denoted
    reset and keep my games and apps.

    Follow the steps here on
    How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One
    and let us know how that helps with the issue

    PS: If you can't even get into settings to do that, you might need to use the troubleshooting menu that you can bring up following the instructions on

    "I need help with system updates on my Xbox One"

    Update, somewhat annoyed.

    Wiped my media HDD, formatted it, reconnected to Xbox One and nothing, still doesn't recognize the drive.

    Shortly after I remembered that I have a handy little program on my PC that is able to switch external HDD formats between Xbox One System (non-windows) and Xbox One media (windows) formats so I decided to switch my media drive to the system format and see
    what happens. Plug it in and wham, the drive is recognized instantly as a system volume.......

    So after almost 12+ hours of messing around (not you're fault EggsBoxJuan you have been very helpful) it would seem that the system update is to blame, not my HDD.

    Personally I think this is shocking. EggsBoxJuan pointed out to me that have been reporting this issue on the preview forums for months. The engineers response? Blame the users HDD's.

    Well for me this is irrefutable proof that the system update it to blame, this could have been avoided if the feedback on the preview forums had been looked into before the update was pushed out.

    Guess I will have to sit and wait for a patch now.
