Problems after opening the box.

Today I got an Xbox one from Best Buy, took it home and connected it up by using the directions. Come to find out when trying to set it up for the first time it won't load past the Xbox one start screen. We though it over heated, so it was cooling
down for over half of an hour. We also replaced the battery and still nothing. Now I'm thinking of taking it back :-(





Just got an Xbox one not even two hours ago and I cant set it up. It only powers up to the Xbox one logo then powers off.

Oopening

I have a very weird problem , my x-box tray wont quit opening after i put a game in D:

 

Will the Xbox One Day One Achievement pop up once the update is complete?

is there an achievement for opening the box?

 

That's so lame. Basically, your console was not downloading the initial update. Don't know what your next steps are, but hopefully your next console will work better

 

Ok, can you try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down then unplug everything and let it sit for 5 minutes.

If that doesn't work then I'm afraid that you may need to return it for an exchange.

 

I finally decided I would buy an Xbox One. I bought it today and brought it home and it had a catastrophic hardware failure during the initial setup. The console failed the initial required update and started to make a sparking / electrical buzzing sound
inside that could be heard from across the room. I contacted Microsoft support in my concern for safety and to report the issue and they responded with either repair it and wait two weeks or take it back to the place that it was purchased from. I could understand
that response if it was a typical hardware failure like a bad hard drive but to have that response when there is a possibility it could have caused harm to myself or my personal property seemed like i was not appreciated as a customer. I guess I can still
decide to switch to any other major console and just return this one. I hope that no one else has to deal with this type of situation.

 

Sorry this happened to you. Yours is the first comment I've heard of this happening to. I'm sure it was just an unhappy fluke (glad everyone's ok and it wasn't worse). However, I would suggest doing as support stated and return it to the store for a replacement.

 

The new Xbox one works now, but it freezes a bit and still not bad. I took it back to Best Buy yesterday and the guy said that he has never seen this problem before. To make a long story short I got a different Xbox one now and it is now work (that is the
big thing) .

 

Glad to hear it. If it continues freezing on you simply hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds then unplug everything for 5 minutes. That should solve the issue.

Also, if you find you need more storage you can purchase a USB 3.0 storage device (external) and connect it to your console. You can have up to 2 separate devices ranging in size from 256GB to 16TB at the same time for a total of 32.5TB worth of storage
space.
