Problem with XBox360 Gold Game in Germany - "Offer not available in your region"

so, I am a citizen of a small EU country and I have one hotmail account for several years. The adress on the Hotmail account was the old country.

A month or so ago, I relocated to Germany and I bought a new XBox One S here. I used my hotmail account with the XBox.

Upon intial startup of the XBox I immediately selected the Location (Ort) to be Deutschland and I also changed everything to german. So from the first minute this XBox had Germany as an adress.

I bought a prepaid Live Gold code, entered it and I thought everything would be ok.

But it seems that there existis a Problem and no one in the Support could help me.

The Problem is - I am unable to install the one free XBOx 360 game (Hitman:Blood Money). In the game description it says that the game is free (kostenlos) but when I try to install the game I get a message: " This offer is not available in your country".

I chatted 3 times with the support (in German of course), I also changed my hotmail adress to Germay and I added a german bank card (which I then also used to buy a game) to my hotmail account.

The support said at the beginng that my old adress was still visible and that it takes a day or two for the System to process the (hotmail) adress change. Today the support said that according to their system - my adress is now switched to Germany.

But still I am unable to collect the free XBox 360 game (Hitman:Blood Money). The customer support is polite but they seem to be overwhelmed with the problem.

This is my first console since Playstation1 and one of the reasons why I bought the XBox One was due to peoples good experiences with Gold.

I also use a Windows 10 and Visual Studio (community edition/free) and I have good experiences with those, so I decided to stick with Microsoft when it came to consoles.

Can someone help me please ?

Can't grab gears 3 on Games with Gold

I am in Germany and would like to purchase Gears 3 as part of the Games with Gold offer this month. I can Purchase the Booster Map Pack but when I try to buy Gears 3 the game itself it says: The content is not available to consoles in your region.

What the Hell? This Title even has official USK approved, why can't i purchase it for free now in Germany?

The game is available in Germany so region restriction is only an issue if you're account region is not set for Germany.

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Please make sure your console and account are both set to Germany. You can do this from the console by going to settings and changing your Locale. Also, log in to
account.microsoft.com and make sure your address and billing info are all correct and up to date.

I suggest You to talk to Xbox Support, they would assist you and how to do that.

I already did that.

So both on my XBox One S and my hotmail account now have Germany as Region.

I even added a German Creditcard and I bought a game with it (succesfully). And even the support today said that in their System they see my Region as Germany.

The problem with the link is: when I click on it it says that I can download the game on XBox 360 (which I dont have).

I mean this Gold thing works sort of: I could download for free the XBox One game. But I am having problems with the XBox 360 game ("Sorry this offer is not available in your region").

I would be frankly more satisfied with a binary: working/not working state than this half working mess.

 

Make sure your console language is set to german too

Account region actual region and language must be rhe same

Where did you add the gold from? Was it after you moved to Germany or before? That could be the underlying issue here and something that only Support can handle if it is.

As for adding the game from the website, I don't have a 360 either but if necessary I get the game from the website then just hunt it down on the Xbox One. Search the store for the title and try downloading the 360 version, not the One version.
