Problem with Xbox Series X Game Capture

When I purchased my current series x, as well as when I had my original Xbox one, I was able to record a 1080p game capture for a maximum length of 2 minutes. That option is no longer available, but I have clips less than a month old that are longer than 2 minutes. There is no reason on the top tier console shouldn't be able to do what the 7/8 year old one could. Is this a temporary bug or an attempt to deceive paying customers?

Xbox series x. There is so much documentation about this issue, no-one has a solution (apart from streaming on twitch, saving the vod and then editing the video). Compared with my xbox one captures, taken well over a year ago, they are awful, choppy, stuttering messes. This is not a problem on my end, this is a problem with the xbox series x capture system. The fact captures are STILL terrible is a joke, given the series x was released over 18 months ago.

I would like to have an answer to this as well. 1080p captures on the Series X appear to be capped at 1 minute now. Not only is this laughably low, to the point of uselessness, but this was never communicated to us. It looks like it was a stealth change that shipped with a console update about 3 months back. The PS5's capture settings are far and away superior to what we have on the Series X. Even the Xbox One allowed 2-min 1080p and 5-min 720p captures.

What's going on here?

Yep, exactly. I'm glad to see someone else who is aware of the stealth update. I've already called customer service and text chatted with them for hours. Pathetic clueless responses are all I got, because they have no idea about this update either, supposedly.

MICROSOFT IS SCAMMING IT'S CUSTOMERS AND TRYING TO HIDE IT. What an awful company.

Hi, no problem.

a) I don’t see how connecting the console to another HDMI port or to another display device can help. This is internal capturing and the video is not taken from the video output. Is is processed internally in the Series X. And if there was a problem with my external setup this will surely impact all captures, something that isn’t happening. It is just Far Cry 6 captures the Xbox is struggling with.

c) Using the old plain and simple stereo uncompressed here, I don’t have any other option to use

My belief is that the Xbox is struggling capturing from this game in particular as older games that are less demanding are not showing any problems.
