chances are who ever you bought it from finally switched over his home gold... making those DL'ed games not available to you

Ice storm III there's no need to be a rude *** is there? Not everyone is as clued up as some. And the console was advertised for sale WITH the games so yes I have purchased the games. If I was buying the console itself it would of been a lot cheaper. I wa
only posting as I didn know digital downloads were done this way.

Actually, no... you have not purchased the games. Disc based games may be bought and sold second hand, but digital games may not. In fact, it is 'illegal'. You have been scammed
(either knowingly or unknowingly) by whomever sold you the console. The only games you legally bought would be the ones on disc and the ones you purchased under your own profile.

The reason you have been able to play the games until now has already been explained. If the previous owner bought a new console, then he would likely have downloaded his gamer
profile to the new console. That new console will now be his "Home" console. The digital content (games) that he downloaded... all of them, including the ones on the console you bought from him, are owned by him and cannot be sold. Therefore, as soon as XBL
recognized that his profile now resides on a new console (not the one you bought from him) it automatically invalidated all content on other console(s).

Others have mentioned that there may have been a time limit as well, in which his profile may have needed to 'check in' on the console you purchased. I don't know if that's the
case or not, but either way, you no longer own the rights to play the digital games and just because "the console was advertised WITH the games" doesn't mean it was legal to do so.

This is a big issue on eBay. Lot's of people selling digital games in this manner and ripping people off.

Yep, Basically sounds like the guy who sold it to you went out and bought a new X1, and is now playing the games he sold you.

Many thanks for speedy replies greatly appreciated. Ahhh it seems I have been had on. But the thing that confuses me is that I have never used his gamertag. I created my own directly from the start and these games have all worked for the past 3+ months and
only stopped working last night. Surely if I was unable to play them on my gamertag I would not of even been able to download and install these games? (As there was nothing on hard drive when I got it) and wouldn't of been able to play them on my gamertag
for the past 3+ moths?
