Problem with Xbox live gold free trial.

The Xbox that I purchased recently was advertised as including 1 month of free live gold membership. It came with two cards that were each 14 days, however only one of them actually successfully added the time to my membership.

Gold Membership Codes

For anyone who has a Gold membership with Xbox Live, have you seen these coupon offers? Supposedly, you can either get Xbox free or get a free trial offer for as long as one year. There might be a catch, but maybe they're just doing it to promote the Gold membership. Has anyone ever gotten a free trial?

Trial codes do not stack. So if you added them both at the same time, the 2nd card would have overwritten the first and you would still only have 14 days.

I'm having the same problem. When I view subscriptions on my son's box, it shows xbox live gold, 30-day free trial, but when he invites one of his friends to a party it tells him he needs an xbox gold membership. What was the free trial for?
