Problem with the update

i just hooked my Xbox One S up for the 1st time. I connected it to my wifi and when it to get the needed update, it says "There is a problem with the update". Aftet that I have two options, try again or check network connection. I have tried again several
times and gotten the same message. When I check my network connection I have to renter my password every time like it isn't remembering it. It is in the exact same spot that my original One sat and everything else in this house, including the One in the bedroom,
isn't having any problems with my network. I have already reset my router and that did nothing. I'm not willing to run a cable to an Xbox that I just spend almost $500 on. Do I need to return this?

Problem with the USB update

I don't know, where the problem was, but at some 10-15th try it worked from the CD (the USB stick still didn't wanna make it). CD was saying Mixed Mode Content and didn't want to update. Now it's working. Don't really know, where the problem was. :-/ Bah...

Hey there TK! In your first post you mention not finding the "default.xex" file, which is not necessary to find for this update process. You simply put the contents of the ZIP file into the root of the USB device and then plug it in.

Also, when you say it's not updating, are you experiencing an error of some kind, or is it just not doing anything when you plug in the USB? Let us know, thanks!

 

Run an ethernet cable for the time being. Download the update on the wired connection and once it's up and running, disco the cable, connect to the wireless network you're after and you should be ready to rock n roll! Let me know if this helps!
