Problem with redeeming Xbox code from PC

Problem

I received an Xbox code for a 12 month subscription. Since my current subscription was about to expire, I tried to renew it using the code. When viewing my subscription through the Xbox PC app, I was instructed (and redirected) to redeem the code through
the browser at the link

I went there and, after logging in, tried to redeem the code, but it failed with the error

Xbox. Please redeem this code on your console.
However, my Xbox PC app instructed me to redeem it an that page, and redeeming it via a console was not an option (I do not own one). I tried multiple times, logging in through a different browser, manually entering the code - no
change.

Solution

In the end, I found a workaround - I visited the Microsoft Store via the link below, clicked on `...` -> `Redeem a code` and entered the code and it worked.

Bugs

1. If the initial page I've visited is not the proper one, please change the link in the Xbox PC app to point to the proper page.
2. If the page is valid, then please enable the initial page it so that it works fox Xbox as well (ideally, all Microsoft gift codes can be redeemed on a single page).
3. The error message shown above is not applicable to people who do not own a console but use Xbox on PC, and should probably be changed to be inclusive of both platforms.
