Problem with redeeming GTA 5 code from Kinguin

We advise against buying from grey market sellers such as Kinguin. Unauthorized sellers may fraudulently supply products via account theft/payment fraud, and could expose you to risk.

Kinguin, can't check when a code was activated, and Microsoft can't tell you this if it wasn't activated on your own account. Sadly my best advice is to persist with Kinguin's support to get a replacement code or refund. If they refuse to help, your next option would be contacting your payment provider to cancel the payment.

Sometimes with codes from sites like kinguin, g2a or cdkeys need no active gold subscriptions, so you could try that if you haven't already

If you bought the code from a code selling site like G4A, Kinguin or the likes, it might be possible that you got a seller, that tries to scam people, by selling a code multiple times.

Since Microsoft support probably won't provide you with those details for privacy reasons, the seller can continue to scam people, as they have no way to comply with the seller's demand for information. So they will be "Oh, I would like to help you, but
unless you provide me proof that it was redeemed sometimes earlier, I won't be able to help! Thanks for your money."

Therefore do NOT buy codes from dubious code selling sites.

The game is not "locked" due to country restrictions, but more due to space restrictions on the disc. A Xbox 360 DVD has only so much space, and a "Games on Demand" download game is simply an image of the DVD disc, without any additional space.

Since Skyrim is a large game to begin with, there was only space for ONE language on the disc for each country. So depending on what code you bought, it seems you bought the French version of the game.

You could try to get a refund from Kinguin, but since they are "only" resellers from codes from other people, and digial codes are usually not "returnable", I'd doubt that Kinguin is going to help you there.

In the future, do NOT buy games from dubious stores like Kinguin that sell codes from other marketplaces to avoid getting games from strange countries.
