Problem with PS4 Microsoft sign in

My son has Minecraft on his PS4 he wants to link it to his friends… OK

Set Up Microsoft account OK

He entered the website on the screen … OK

He Inputs the code into that… OK

The next screen invites him to update his Xbox Minecraft profile…

So what’s that all about? And How can we get round it?

Hi there

It prompts you for a gametag but when my son inputs that he's not recognised

He seems to have input a random recommended gametag and it's worked... I have no idea what this is about.. so thanks but we seem to have thrown a load of dust in the air and come up smelling of roses

But is he able to play with his friends normally with the random gametag? If so, that's great, I'm glad it worked out!

so basically i put in the code but is says "the code as expired" even tho i was up for 5 seconds help me fix this.

did i do something wrong

What kind of code is it that you're trying to enter or redeem?

Do you get some kind of error?

You're saying that you're on the PS4, are you having trouble with Minecraft or something?
