Problem with power supply

Hi, I have a problem with my Xbox, my power supply makes strange noises. Can someone tell me why / where does that come from?

xbox turns on and off by itself

This might be a problem with the power supply. Try moving the power supply to where you can see it. If the light turns red right before your console powers off, you will know it's a problem with the power supply.

This definitely sounds like an issue with your power "Brick"

Open a support call on the machine. Follow this link:

support.xbox.com/.../repair-process

If you have warranty, they will resolve it for free, otherwise, there may be a cost

Alternatively, you may be able to find a cheap one on a site like Ebay or Kijiji

The power supply contains a small fan that you may be heading, if the sound is fairly quiet then it's probably nothing to worry about.

Adding to what xKamiCosby said if the power supply is fried then Microsoft will replace it if your warranty is still valid.

I would say that the problem is related to the power supply itself. Canada runs on completely different voltage and it may be causing the issue. You will probably need an adapter, or just a new power supply. Let me know what you find out, sounds interesting.

Hello

Your power supply should not be making any noise at all!! So if it is I strongly recommend contacting technical support.

Also the loudest noise your Xbox should make is when the disc spins round to load a game, other than that it should have a low unnoticeable hum to it.
