problem with picture size using the Xbox one

When the Xbox one is connected the only picture size setting on my TV that gives me a full picture results in the top,bottom, and side cutoff. Then when I switch back to the Xbox I need to change the picture size so I can see all of the graphics. The TV
is a 2 year old Samsung that works fine without the Xbox. The TV is 1080 and the Xbox is set to 1080. Is there something I have setup wrong?

Also when I run the HDMI signal through my receiver the audio is out of sync. All this for $450, what a joke

Check the size of thw picture not all picture sizes works you jave to keep trying until you got the right one.

 

Foto's are cut off in top and bottom

I changed my xbox one for a xbox one elite. Now when i attach my external hdd with foto's on it, the foto's get cut on the bottom and top of the screen. Games and tv are the correct size. Only when i look at pictures ik have this problem. My old xbox one
did not have this problem. I tried this with different foto's and pictures. All get cut. Could be that this has to do with the latest update? I bought my xbox elite Just after the latest update and the xbox elite is updated and the old xbox one is not. Can
some one help me out please.

 

Other users have been able to fix the picture issue through the cable box settings. Do you see anything that says "Fit screen" or "Aspect" in you cable box settings or on the remote?

 

I have tried changing the picture size on the dish remote, but it did not solve the problem.

Without the Xbox in the system the TV works, I get the correct picture size with dish and DVD's.

With the xbox connected I cannot get the correct picture size when watching TV, when I get a full picture on the screen it is over scanned.

Then when I switch to the Xbox I need to make the picture size smaller so I can see all the graphics on the xbox.

Have you tried using the calibrate for HDTV option in the settings on your xbox?

This auto-calibrates some settings for your TV. You go to settings > display/sound

Hopefully this will solve your problem.

 

I have gone through the calibration, I can get the xbox to work fine and it will fit the screen ok. But when I switch to TV mode it is small picture and I have to reset the picture size on the TV and it is over scanned. Then if I go back to the xbox I
have to reset the picture size.

 

That's odd. I have never heard of that problem before.

I would keep checking back occasionally, someone else might have an answer for you.

I think I have solved the problem, in the dish menu/ system setup/ HDTV setup, changed the aspect ratio from 4x3 to 16x9. Now I get the correct size on the TV with Dish and the Xbox. Does not make sense that adding the Xbox required this to be changed
since everything was fine previously.
