Problem with new Xbox 360 original games

I` ve bought halo 4, halo anniversery, and my disk drive did not read both games. Both games are working on the xbox of a friend, so the failure is not on the games. The disk drive reads all other games i have. I*ve allready erased the cache with no effect.
The software is up to date. What is the problem? Sorry for my bad english I am from Germay! Thxx for help!

MY original xbox 360 will not play my original xbox games why

Only certain games form the original Xbox console can be played on the new Xbox 360.

Some original xbox games no longer work on the xbox 360 with the new Dashboard Update

In spending many hours on the phone with Xbox 360 tech support today, I was told that the new Xbox 360 updates make it impossible to play many 3rd party Original Xbox games on your Xbox 360. Has anyone else run into this issue? And does anyone else think
this is a problem, especially since support for the Original Xbox has long since been phased out?

what kind of error code comes up when you try to play the game?

Check other games on your console.

If they don't work either you have to go and change it .

* is your game original ? or you use a hacked xbox ?

Which model of 360 do you have? If you have one of the original models (commonly referred to as the "fat"), then it may be that the firmware on the DVD drive could not be updated to handle the new disc format Microsoft introduced a few years back via dashboard
update. This is somewhat of a rare issue and only affected a few consoles. The other option is your DVD drive is beginning to fail and needs to be repaired.

This made more problems but there easy, I'd Imagine my Xbox 360 would be an american made or something like that, so my doom 3 regular xbox game may not be an american version I have done reasearch That::

That might be the problem fixed, thanks for the hyperlink. Though it let me to this search -----^ The regualar xbox list said my game was on the list.

but it doesnt solve it yet, you see, since im going to get a new Xbox 360 myself soon ILL keep my problem on hold for atleast 1 month maybe.

This also didnt quite answer my question too, where is this Xbox 360 backwards software I need on my Xbox 360 or, to be accurate my "NEW XBOX 360".
