Problem with games minimising

Every time I start up a game on my PC it will run for about 5-30 minutes, then minimise itself and sometimes crash. Even if it doesn't crash and just minimises itself, the game will still not let me go back into it, and sometimes just display a windowed black screen. The strange thing is that when I start the game again it will now work just fine. So this is a problem that only happens when I first start playing a game after booting up my PC. I have tried to looking online at way to solve this issue but none of these methods have worked. At first the issue only occurred on one of my games, 'Hearts of Iron 4', but now it happens on every game I play.

Does anyone know why this might be, or how I could fix this issue? I remember having problems with games minimising on my old PC years ago, the issue was not similar to this, as games would minimise frequently and I could always get back into them. However I still have the same hard drive in my current PC, so could this be a hardware problem?

No I haven't made an effort to do anything like that. To be honest, I am not sure if it is only steam. I haven't tested every single game to see if it happens, but I do know for certain that it happens with my steam games.

I just think it's an app or service that's causing this but it's really hard to know which one. I think if you run the games in borderless window mode maybe the game won't be minimized

Thanks for your help, but I have already tried all of these. When I googled my issue this is what the website said to do, but it didn't work. Perhaps it could be a problem with steam? Most of the games that have this issue seem to be on steam.

Whatever the issue may be, I just find it bizarre that it will only happen once after I boot up my pc, and then be fine when I restart the game.

That's odd. Did you close the Steam client and processes while playing other games?

If you disable Windows services on clear boot you might not even be able to boot the system, I don't recommend messing with that.

Disable your antivirus, game mode, and Windows Error Reporting service

In Windows Search, type services.msc and open Services.

Scroll down until you reach Windows Error Reporting Service.

Right-click and open Properties.

Choose Disabled in the Startup type drop-down menu.
