Problem with email address

I already have a Microsoft account. I've just purchased an Xbox One S and I was attempting to add my husband as a family member. I added him as a family member. I was then asked for his email address, which is the same as mine. Xbox replied that this
email address was already in use, but we live together and share the same email address.

This may be obvious to most people, but we are elderly and obviously haven't got a clue what is wrong. Can someone please help us.

I had the saem problems as Fossal, after finally speaking to someone, they said I had to make another email address which had to be active for 30 days, then transfer the unsued GT off the email address I use every day so it had no GT associated to it, and then to move my gamertag that I use to my email address I use.

Problem was, wasw tht the email address my GT was associated to had bee nhacked and was a pain to access as they kept blocking it. So I gave up in the end!

When I try and recover the passcode so I can accept the terms and conditions for the new dashboard update it says that I have the wrong email address even though it is the one that comes up on my dashboard when I need to accept the terms and conditions.

Each Xbox Live Account will need it's own unique Email address.

When setting up a Family you are basically grouping different Xbox Live Accounts into a small group. For example when adding child accounts too, both parents can see and maintaing the child accounts. For some additional information this link may help: Xbox One : Family
