problem with downloading a digital game

That does not make sense! Whilst a connection to the server is obviously necessary to verify the data you've downloaded, 1Mbps is on the slow side, but more than sufficient.

Is the console old? - could the hard drive be failing, or is it just full?

I see quite a few mentions of local saves being the cause, with clearing them being the solution; please make sure your saves are backed up to the cloud before deleting the local ones!

Your download speed is very low so that means other players have to wait for you. Instead of doing that they stop your installation. Wired is alwys better.

After reading all the comments below, there are a few things that you might wish to try.

Firstly ensure that you have enough space on the hard drive to install the game.

While downloading the game try not to have everything else on, such and mobile phone, pads, and other items using the wifi.

From previous installations check your hard drive and ensure that the game has been removed, as this can cause errors to pop up.

Hard reset the Xbox, there are some good videos on doing this.

Hard reset the router; this involves turning it off, removing the power cable for a min of 10 sec and then turning it all back on again.

If this fail call the service provider as there may be an issue at the exchange box, as there could be a problem there, or a fault on the line, as this can cause issues when it talks to the server when wanting lots of data.

If all else fails at this point go to a friends and see if you have the same issue, this could be a hardware issue where you may have a lose connection on the motherboard or it could be overheating a terminal which is causing it to malfunction and cut the
transfer. If it works at a friend then it is a service provider/ connection issue at you home.
