    Problem with disc reading

I have recently received a preview of the upcoming April system update for the Xbox One. When I finish playing a game and eject the disc, Xbox One pulls the disc back and shows a message telling me to change disc or clean it (the game does not load). I have
to turn off the console and unplug it if I want to play any game. Moderators, what should I do?

    :)

    Disc reading problem

All these disc 'repairs' do, is either:

    A. Fill in the scratches in the layer with plastic (Doesn't work very well)

    B. Sand off a small amount of the disc plastic surface, so the scratches aren't that deep.

Regular DVDs are thicker (even if it's micro millimeters), than newer Xbox 360 games. If you for example, take an Xbox 360 game from 2007, and then take one from today, you'll notice a significant weight and thickness difference. Disc repair methods normally
don't do anything to 'regular' thickness DVDs.

Unfortunately, because this is a 'newer' game, the middle of the disc (which is where the game ID and boot information is stored) probably got sanded or damaged. Your disc is probably useless if it doesn't work in any consoles.

    Reading disc problem

If you are doing nothing wrong, you won't get banned. It maybe the disk can't play because of the scratches. Do other games work OK??

    Problem with disc reading

Hey there. Please post anything Preview / Beta related in the seperated Section here:

    forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx

As for your issue it´s reported several times in the Beta Forum. I guess they are Aware of it and investigating /working on a fix. I guess we only can stay tuned this time and Report any other Bug that may occure.

As this is a Beta those are the issues we have to deal with and give them some time to fix it. That´s part of the Programm to help sharpen the experience before Public Release.

    disc read problems

Sadly, as of right now it is just that the console optical disc drive, or the disc drive itself has gone defective, and you need to set up a repair for the console. With this, you can set up a repair 1 of 2 ways:

    1) Go to myservice.xbox.com and set up a repair there

    2) Call 1-800-4MyXbox, and set up a repair through an agent.

I personally would choose the 1st option. No wait, and its pretty simple.

If you do need any help setting up a repair, please respond to this thread so that I may continue to assist you.

    Hope this helps

    Problem reading discs

This is the second Xbox x in a month doing the same and the reason I changed it was doing all the resets and wiping it completely it still doesn't work, it plays blu ray and games but not DVD. It needs to be sorted out especially as it's supposed to be
an entertainment system and so expensive!

Hey Taff thanks for keeping in touch.

    We suggest
    Requesting a Callback
from one of our Xbox Support Specialists since this could be a licensing issue on the Blu Ray player side. Give it a shot and let us know how it goes!

    Hey there Taff!

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this problem.

To be honest, from reading over the troubleshooting that you have already gone through, it seems like you might have a hardware problem preventing you from running those dvd's. If that's the case, I would suggest creating a repair order for your console
    at
    device support
    or by contacting
    customer support
and having an agent help you with that.

    Hope this information helps.

    Thanks for reading!
