    Hi,

    I play No Man’s Sky on PC using the Xbox app and Game Pass. After a recent update, I tried to return to the game, but my save files were missing. I have 187 hours of playtime, yet when I load the game, no saves appear.

    Even when I manually save my progress, the game refuses to recognize it. No error messages appear, but when I exit, it says there are no save files. Restarting the game confirms that neither my old nor new saves are available.

    I’ve reinstalled the game, but that didn’t help. When I check my account on www.xbox.com, my profile and gaming activity are there. However, under Settings → Manage Games, I get an error:
    "There was some error fetching your save data. Please try again."

    I suspect this might be the problem. I still have local save files for No Man’s Sky, but the game doesn’t seem to recognize them. Strangely, other games on the Xbox app save just fine, so I’m unsure whether the issue is with the Xbox app or the game itself.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Denys, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

    If you've played the game on a different device then try loading it from there then save the game and quit out to the main menu before quitting the game. If that does not work though then please read through this Reddit thread https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comme... to see if anything listed there helps. If all else fails you would need to contact Game Support as suggested on the thread as well.

    Ah, yeah may be a display issue in No Man's Sky then, which if so, I would let Hello Games know that the save date and times aren't displaying correctly, when you have the time to of course. (Contact - No Man's Sky)

    I asked about the Cloud saves on PC and the answer to me was: Right now, as it stands with Cloud saves, you can't force update them on PC because you cannot access the cloud saves on PC and there is not an existing user interface to do so.

    Just in case,

    If your local files, are there any that represent the date on your save file that should be represented there? Are your local save files saved in C:\XboxGames\No Man's Sky? And just to make sure, do you have more than one save game in No man's Sky? I'm checking some info on cloud saves on my end but it may take a bit until I get an answer, but as soon as they answer me I'll shoot what I find your way.

    No Mans Sky Gamepass save corrupted, now the game wont save at all

    On the account where the corruption occurred, navigate to C:\Users\NAME\Saved Games\GAME where NAME is your username and
    GAME will be something like No Man's Sky in this case. Rename the No Man's Sky folder to something like No Man's Sky - Bad. Launch the game and see if it acts differently.
    It seems No Man's Sky doesn't create a save there. I did find local save data elsewhere and deleted it, but the corrupted profile still doesn't work.

    No Man’s Sky lost all of my game saves.

    I resolved this. I was able to delete the local files and restore from the cloud. Phew! I actually have 900 hours in this game on my Xbox and I still have not yet reached the center of the galaxy. To busy exploring and finding new things to explore and do. Here are some solutions that I found:

    A. Try deleting the local save data for No Man's Sky and then syncing it with the cloud. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    2. Select My games & apps > See all > Games.

    3. Highlight No Man's Sky and press the Menu button on your controller.

    4. Select Manage game and add-ons > Saved data.

    5. Select Delete all to remove the local save data for No Man's Sky.

    6. Once the local save data has been deleted, restart your Xbox console.

    7. When your Xbox console has restarted, open No Man's Sky and allow it to sync with the cloud.

    8. Once the sync has completed, try loading your game save.

    Or…

    B. Try joining someone else's game. If you are able to join someone else's game, your save file may be able to load correctly. Once you have joined someone else's game, try saving your game and then quitting the game. After you have quit the game, try loading your save file again.

    Or…

    C. Use a save editor. There are a number of save editors available for No Man's Sky. These editors may be able to fix your corrupted save file. To use a save editor, you will need to copy your save file to your computer. Once you have copied your save file, you can open it with the save editor and try to fix the corruption.
