Problem with bluetooth antenna in Xbox

Hi,

My controller won't stay connected to my xbox for long, but the WiFi works fine from my xbox. I know it isn't a controller issue as i've tried 2 brand new controllers, & also tried my controller on other Xbox's which works fine.

I've learnt that it could be ''The module that runs the WiFi also has the Bluetooth antenna on it too which the controllers use to connect. So even if the Wi-Fi is ok, the Bluetooth may not be so the module will need repairing.''

Does anybody have any experience with this? I've been quoted £80 to get it fixed but i would rather do it myself for a lot cheaper than that. Need to know which part i am to buy you see.

Its too late to remove Kinect.. stop asking!!

Here we go again... IRISH... The controller connects via WiFi Direct, not IR or Bluetooth. If the sync sensor is IR and it's in the Kinect housing, that's different to the WiFi antenna.

This is important info MS isn't releasing... Go on Google it, bet you won't find anything conclusive. If the WiFi antenna is in the Kinect housing I bet they'd be saying so to hush some of the concerns.

We don't recommend repairing anything yourself as it will break the warranty of your Xbox One. To check, do you have any other USB devices plugged into your Xbox One you can try removing to see if there's any change with your connection? Also if there are any
other wireless devices in between you and the controller, they may be causing some interference.

check the antenna is not blocked by the pc

external antennas are low cost and do wonders for wifi and bluetooth

I think so, it's a nice motherboard by the way. I saw that this board has output for 2 antennas, right? Do you use these antennas with the card?

Why am I asking this? I've seen a similar problem that the motherboard used these antennas to extend the bluetooth signal. Maybe that's your case.

According to the specs bluetooth has to be 4.2+

I saw that your ROG has antenna outputs. Are you using them? Usually, these antennas are connected with the PC's Bluetooth too and maybe the signal is weak without them.

if your computer doesn't have Bluetooth and a Bluetooth antenna it's not going to work. You can purchase a Bluetooth adapter for under $10 from Amazon
