Problem with Blu-Ray playback

Hello, as well as my control pads keep disconnecting at random times, my xbox one also has a problem with Blu-Ray playback.

when I play a Blu-Ray the screen flicks from a blank black screen to the films image then back to black screen then back to the film etc etc.

is this a common problem and can I get it fixed?

Problem with blu ray playback

Hey bushbabyninja! Do the freezing and audio issues occur at the same time on the blu-rays? Do you have any accessories attached to the console? Additionally, are you a part of the Insider program at all? Post back and let us know!

Hi,

The sound has cut and image begins to freeze seconds later, with chapter drop and definitively freeze on image. If i try to change chapter it s moving on black screen and t could no answering at all. Will try tonight to reinstall the app but it seems that
i got those issues since the last patch ( last month i think )

Problem with blu ray playback

I have the same issue. It happens about 30 minutes into a movie and effects blu ray and dvd. The only accessory I have attached is an external hard drive.

Hi MadMartinMarsh,

Assuming you haven't already done so, try the following :

1. Try playing a different Blu-ray disk and cleaning your disk too.

2. Reset the cache and restart: Settings / Power & Startup / Restart now.

3. Launch the Blu-ray Player app. If it's still acting up, go back to the dashboard and Show Menu (or menu button on the Blu-ray Player app) / Manage App / Manage All / Uninstall All

4. Install the app again by ejecting and inserting your Blu-ray disk again. It should automatically prompt you to install it again.

5. Try playing your disk again.

Blu-ray persisant storage is for the internet featues some Blu-ray movies, it has nothing to do with the playback of the movies.

My point was and still is, that a PS3 or a computer with a Blu-Ray drive rely on software for playback so both can be affected by whatever software/OS is running in the background. A stand alone Blu-ray player does not have that problem.

I assume that it will be the same with the Xbox One as an app is needed for playback of BR's.

All Blu-ray players use software for playback. It is called firmware and generally is user updateable. The Xbox One is a proper Blu-ray player that has issues at the moment. Lip sync and no 3D playback among them.

I had the same happen with one of my Blu-ray discs.. But all the others worked ok.

Not tried a DVD yet.

The Blu-ray playback has lip-sync problems, so they will hopefully get this app thoroughly reviewed.
