Problem with account and game

Hello,

I will describe my problem with a series of steps:

1. I bought the Xbox One that came with a free license key for Minecraft.

2. I installed Minecraft on the Xbox from the Microsoft Store using my account.

3. Later, I added a family member (my son) to the Xbox.

4. My son would often login with my account to use the Minecraft program. (he could not access it with his account)

5. Today, he was not able to login with my account to play Minecraft. The Xbox displayed a message that something went wrong. (0x80a4001a)

6. I researched this error, and the Xbox support page stated that I should remove my account and re-add it.

7. However, when I try to re-add the account, it states that "a user on this Xbox already uses that account."

8. I could try removing his account, but at this point I am afraid I won't be able to add his account or he might lose saved data. (even though I know his profile is stored on the Internet)

So basically, the Xbox thinks my account is still on there, but it is not apparently. When I go to family settings, I can see my account. I select "Add to this Xbox". When I do that, I get the same message as step 7. I am wondering what is the best solution.
Also, is it possible for me to have the Minecraft game transferred to his account? I don't this so, but worth a try asking.

try a Factory Reset and select Keep Games and Apps

this link should guide you through the steps

then when you have done that you should be able to add your account band your Son's account back onto the Xbox.

I would also suggest making the Xbox your Home Xbox so that your Son can play Minecraft on his account (as well as share your Live Gold/Game Pass and other digital games)

Once an item has been transacted to an account it cannot be transferred to another.

Is this the first Xbox you have ever logged onto? if it is it should then be your home console and your son can use any games you get on your account if they play on that Xbox. If it is not then you want to set it as your home console.

It would be best if you kept you son on his account you created as it gives you some control over things and can protect him depending on age and privacy settings.

Manage child accounts

For your issue have you done a full power down of the console? Hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to fully power it off. This can fix a few things like the account issue you are seeing.

If the console is online it should be saving the saves to the cloud as well as your console so removing your sons account will not cause him to lose data.

Xbox Support website. Your saved data is automatically uploaded to the cloud and will automatically sync when you sign back in.
