Problem with a purchase (didn’t get any games!)

Hi!

I just bought a couple of games on the Microsoft store on my Xbox series S and just as I paid I got a message saying something like: Oops something went wrong, try again later.

Later I checked my bank account and the purchase had been been completed. And yet I didn’t get any of the games I purchased…

The Microsoft store says that I don’t own the games and also when I check my order history there is nothing about my latest order (even though money was taken from my bank account). When I check out the Xbox app on my phone the games are also not in my library. What do I do? Can I get the games or can I get my money back?

Hello heOutlaw13, by your description an error occurred at the time of the charge, in these cases two things can happen.

The first is, between 24 and 72 hours if the purchase is not completed and does not appear in your Purchase History, the system will automatically refund the amount charged to your credit card.

And the second is, the system will be able to validate the purchase and your game will appear in your Purchase History, so the ideal is to keep checking your account through the website below to see if the purchase of the game is completed.

Hello again, I don't know how many attempts to purchase you have made, but as the purchase process on the Xbox/Microsoft platform is completely automatic and this error message is appearing, the ideal thing is to wait between 24 / 48 hours to try again, and also try making the purchase through the Xbox website in a normal PC browser.

Note: if you have made more than 3 attempts, do not try to do more, as the system may block your account for security purchases.

Merry Christmas to you too! I got my money back and tried to purchase the games again… the exact same thing happened (got a message saying: oops, something went wrong) and now I’ve got to wait to get my money back once more

Is it common that this purchase problem occur? Maybe it’s more safe to buy the games on a pc rather than on my console?
