    I’m trying to change a child’s account to an adults account. After several conversations with Xbox, the last advisor told me all I had to do was prove my age and they will change to account. The account is in my name and everything matches up. The department
    who is dealing with this request have told me with my debit card I’ve

    Already verified with my bank card, now they don’t seem to want to reply to my emails.

    Can anyone help?

    Hey, if you could contact someone on the live support desk as they may need to look into your account.

    If you go to support.xbox.com, they may be able to better help with this issue Problem with a child’s Xbox account :)

    Let me explain a couple things.

    You have a Microsoft account with an xbox profile on it.

    when a MS account is originally setup Whatever the date of birth that is put in is going to be the date of birth for the xbox profile FOREVER.

    So for an example say you setup a MS account with the date of birth as 12/20/2006 which would put it at 11 years old as of today since it is under 18 you have to set it up as a child account and have an adult account attached to it in order to agree to the
    code of conduct and terms of use since that is technically considered a contract and a company can not go into a contract with a minor.

    So once that DOB is put in when it is setup the xbox profile will always consider that the DOB and NO matter what you do to the MS account it will always look at that original DOB.

    So until that original DOB hits its 18th birthday it will always be considered a child account for the Xbox profile.

    and until it hits its 18th birthday it will ALWAYS need to have an adult account attached to it.

    Problem:

    You see the following error and message when you try to sign in to Xbox Live using a child account:

    Before you can sign in here, you'll need to sign in at Xbox.com.

    An adult will also need to sign in so they can give permission.

    Code: 83118853

    This means that the parent account must provide permission for each associated child account (under age 13) before the child can access Xbox Live

    Solution:

    To resolve this issue, have the child account sign in to Xbox.com. Then, when prompted, the parent account associated with the child account should sign in to Xbox.com and give permission for the child account to sign in to Xbox Live.

    If you keep experiencing the problem, contact Xbox Support.

    Can't purchase free gold game. Your account is unable to make this type of purchase

    There seems to be no solution to this problem if a child account is the one with Xbox Live Gold and you don't have an Xbox 360.

    The parent account does not have the ability to get the Xbox Live Gold game for free.

    The child account gets the message "Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com".

    Hi,

    You'll want to contact phone support to see if they can do anything for you there. I'm not sure what the procedure would be if the account is banned
    and it's connected to a child account.
