Problem while connecting to Xbox live

My Xbox one is unable to detect any wireless network.

Sometimes (very rarely) i am able to connect to xbox live but most of the time it shows that there is a hardware problem.

when i try to connect to my network by entering it's SSID it gives an error saying that the network protocol needs to be WPA 2 personal or some other stuff but it is already WPA 2 personal.

What should i do to resolve the issue ?

Worst experiences with Xbox Live?

The worst thing I can think of that happened to me on Xbox Live was when my connection dropped in the 3rd OT while I was playing my brother in Madden. That could have just been an internet problem and not an Xbox problem, but I was infuriated.

 

Gears Of War 2 ......xbox freezes............

Hello Xbox,

Trying to play Gears Of War 2.

Xbox freezes while loading up game.

It only does this connected to Xbox Live.

No problem loading game disconnected from Live.

From main menu tried to connecting to Live.

Once connected, my xbox froze.

Sorry to hear it. Can you try power cycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds until it shuts down?

 

I'm stuck in the same situation. I've tried power-cycling it, and it still doesn't work. I even unplugged my router and modem, as well as plugging them back in. Still doesn't work. On my 360, it shows that Xbox Live works fine. Unfortunately, that's
not the same case for my Xbox One.

 

Can you also provide the make and model of your wireless router, along with the same information regarding your DSL/Cable modem (if this is not a single device).

Also make sure your router (if it's a stand-alone device) is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware.

If the troubleshooting step provided by Onyx did not help, please detail out any troubleshooting steps you have tried so far, so we don't provide you with steps that may only echo back.

 

I have also tried power cycling but that does not work

it was made in november 2014

I just installed the latest firmware but that doesnt help , it still says that there is a hardware problem when i test the connection.

Ok, if you're all trying to connect via wireless are you able to test and make sure you're able to connect via a wired connection? Also, please run tests at www.speedtest.net and post back the ping, up and download speeds.

 

Let's try with a few steps and see where it takes us.

Go to your consoles network settings. Select Advanced settings and select Alternate Mac Address and select Clear. Power off your console.

Since you upgraded your gateway with the latest version of firmware, I suggest that you reset your gateway back to factory defaults. You do this by depress the physical reset button on your gateway for 10 seconds.

Note! If your ISP require a username and a password for connectivity into their network (PPPoE/A), then you would have to know your crendentials for the authentication process.

As soon as your router has connectivity to the Internet, go ahead and manually configure wireless settings. Meaning, do not use a setup wizard to configure wireless settings, which often enable WPS. We don't want that.

Make sure you select unique SSID names for 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz (if this device support dual band) band respectively. Make sure to not use spaces for your SSID.

Select WPA2-PSK as a mean to secure your wireless network and whether you have mulitple choise for encryption, always use AES and only AES.

Select a passhprase, or password for your wireless network.

If you connect your console to the 2,4 GHz radio band, configure the wireless channel on your router, to use a specific frequency that is considered non-overlapping (1, 6, 11).

Make sure to save your settings and reboot your gateway afterward.

Power on your console and reconfigure wireless settings.

If your wireless router support dual band (2,4GHz 5GHz), try connect your console to respectively.

If you're still facing the situation where your console states to be incompatible with your setup, try decrease the security method for your WLAN to be WPA only.

i reconfigured my router as you said but the problem is the same.

i changed the security method to WPA and frequency to 6 but still nothing happened .

 

Are you able to place and connect your console as close-by to your wireless router as possible, or as Onyx suggested; try connect wired with your console. So at least we know it can connect with Ethernet, or not.

Is the Beetel device the only networking device on your LAN that your Xbox One connect through?

 

No there are many networking devices and none of them get detected.

 

If none of them are detected then the issue lays with your ISP

 

i connected my xbox via a wired connection and it worked.
