I went to play COD IW and received the message there is an update available. after ten seconds a " something went wrong" message appeared and the "for help, visit xbox.com/xboxone/update/help" I went there and followed the process. I don't have a code
to input, so I'm not getting a solution.

  2. Cannot connect to wireless router

Message reads like it has the wrong router passowrd, but the password is definitely correct. Computer connects with no problems so its not an internet connection problem, but an xbox live connection problem. Went to the xbox live help site and went through
the 10 steps and nothing worked. Any other solutions?

    Hi,

To resolve your concern you can follow the suggested methods below:

Method 1. Power Cycle your Xbox One console.

You can reset, perform a full power cycle, or physically disconnect your Xbox One console to reboot it completely and fix many common issues. This process does not erase any of your games or data.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds. Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

    3. Plug the console power cable back in.

    4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

Method 2. Clear the Storage cache on the console.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Press the menu key on the controller.

    2. Go to Settings, and then select Disc & Blu-Ray.

    3. In the Blu-Ray section select Persistent Storage.

    4. Select Clear persistent storage.

    Method 3. Clear MAC address.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

    2. Select Settings.

    3. Select All Settings.

    4. Select Network.

    5. Select Network settings.

    6. Select Advance settings.

    7. Select Alternate MAC address.

    8. Select Clear.

If your games or console are still not updating after you follow the methods above, updating the console offline will be the best thing to do to resolve the issue.

To update the console offline, you follow the instructions on this link.

Let us know how it goes.

Have you tried checking for an update for the console itself first?

Go to Settings > All Settings > System > Console Info & Updates

Once the console has been updated, please relaunch the game and see how it goes from there.

    Something went wrong message

    Hi there,

Sorry to hear you are having this problem. Thanks for using the Xbox forums.

    • Which console are you using?
    • How are you connected to the internet? Wifi or Ethernet?
    • Have you tested your network first to check if your console is connected to the internet?
    • Have you tried restarting your console?

If you can confirm these first, we can have a better understanding of what is going on.

Please provide more information about the issue. That is not much to go on.

You can try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and
    restart the console.

    Something went wrong message

It may help us to troubleshoot if you give us a little more information. If it’s a game or app that is not working try and close it and wait a minute or two before re opening the game/app. If you still get this message i would try a Power Cycle on your Xbox
One, if that’s what you’re using. Just hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds, then unplug the power cable for another 10 seconds. Once done plug in and power on. Hope this helps! Please let us know if not or you have any more questions. We are
    always happy to help!
